Yes, You Read That Right: The DALLAS Morning News

July 18, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, you’re not going to believe this so I have links.

The Dallas (as in damn Texas) Morning News has done an editorial listing all of Trump’s failures.

It is epic!

If you’e blocked by a pay wall, it’s also here.

A sample?

  • Embraced autocrats in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Egypt and abandoned longtime U.S leadership in seeking to enhance democracy and human rights.

  • Compromised Israel’s intelligence sources.

  • Spurred more divisiveness in an already divided Middle East by setting off a squabble between Saudi Arabia, a major U.S. ally, and Qatar, home of the region’s biggest U.S. military base.

  • Created uncertainty in the nation’s health care system by sending inconsistent administrative signals and supporting legislation that could deprive millions of people health insurance coverage, undermine Medicaid health support for lower income Americans and give wealthy taxpayers a massive tax cut.

  • Created a commission to investigate his unproven allegations of voter fraud because he lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton.

  • Hired foxes to watch the chicken coops by filling his administration with archconservatives, many with records opposing the very agencies in which they work, and curbing civil rights and environmental enforcement.

And then they get into the impeachable offenses.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

Well, I lived in Dallas, myownself, a long spell ago! Wasn’t the Morning News where Molly Ivins had her column and Joe Bob Briggs reviewed drive-in movies on a titty (sorry, Mama!) rating?

  2. Rick Perry.
They should have named that turd. In capital letters

I haven’t seen today’s paper yet, but I may keep my copy at home for posterity. The DMN has endorsed GOP candidates pretty much as long as I’ve lived here (almost 30 years) and still letters came in griping about how liberal they are. Then the paper endorsed Hillary last fall and all the wingnuts here came unglued. You could practically see the froth right there on the page. My esteem of the DMN has gone way up the last 6 months. I’m grateful they are seeing it like it is and have the courage to tell it like it is.

Scary part is that what the DMN reported is what is KNOWN. Given Donnie’s co-conspirators among his family and his Russian associates that is probably the proverbial tip of the iceberg.

Other than wishing Senator McCain a full recovery, I’m hoping he is fully restored as Maverick McCain. Give ’em hell John. Not only should Jared be stripped of his security clearance and removed from the White House; he needs to be behind bars with the rest of the family and friends.

The snacilbupeR in Congress can’t spell or pronounce collusion, much less see it. Impeachment? High crimes and misdemeanors? Really. How much more do they need to “see” of treason and felonious crimes under the Emoluments Clause by the Trump Crime Family.

  5. DMN has been the conservative tool for as long as I have lived in the Dallas area. That status is unlikely to change. It did stop my heart briefly when DMN endorsed HRC after endorsing EVERY nacilbupeR back at least to Herbert Hoover, including IIRC Barry Goldwater over favorite son/democrat LBJ.

George Bannerman Dealey, who managed the DMN into the 40s and for who Dealey Plaza is named, was a nominal Democrat, fwiw.

  6. Did you happen to check out the comments section on the DMN article?

Equally epic. If you are wondering how exactly the 22% think you got it all there.

  7. Malarkey, Molly wrote for many newspapers, including the Dallas Times Herald. She left the Times Herald when the Morning News bought it and shut it down.

Joe Bob Briggs wrote for the Times Herald and the Texas Monthly, among others. He was syndicated by UPI, so the Morning News might have carried his column.

Thanks, Origuy! I lived there back in the early ’80’s when I worked for Ross Peerow’s EDS. Memory plays havoc after a few years!

Wow. The Wall Street Journal also dissed him today. When you’re a Republican President, and you lose both the Dallas Morning News AND the Wall Street Journal, you really suck.

Well, true conservatives are pretty rare, but they do still exist. And they’re in favor of social order. Not this nihilistic, brain-dead, Russian manipulated kakistocracy.
