Yes, His Name Really Is Tony Tinderholt
Texas State Representative Tony Tinderholt ain’t much to look at, but he ain’t much to listen to either.
Tinderholt has decided that Texas should make having an abortion a felony and take away the voting rights of any women who has had an abortion.
And he’s serious. All exception are off the table.
When asked why the bill makes no exception for rape or incest, Tinderholt said he’s “a firm believer that God creates children in his own image, regardless of how that child is brought into the world, it’s created in his image, and how can someone want to destroy that?”
Tinderholt tries to explain that there are no exceptions for murder and abortion are murder. Uh, that’s an alternative fact. Of course there are exceptions to murder – self defense is one.
But, y’all, he’s doing it for our own good.
[Tinderholt] … defended the proposal by saying completely removing access to the procedure would “force” women to be “more personally responsible” with sex.
Yes, that would include rape. Women are responsible for rape.
Tinderhold added that women would be more responsible about sex “when they know that there’s repercussions.” No Shoot, Sherlock! THAT’s how babies are born?
It appears that this alternative facts thing is becoming real popular because Tinderhold also claims that his bill does not ban abortions. Banning abortions would make it unconstitutional. His bill doesn’t do that.
“I’m not saying, I’ve never said, and the bill doesn’t say that abortion will be abolished and illegal,” he said. “We call it that bill, but the bottom line is this: we’re just changing criminal penal code and statutes.”
Here’s Section 1 of his bill.
Thanks to everybody for the heads up.
WTF? Sorry Mamma. What incident happened to this, and other such men, that they obsess with a woman’s uterus?????? I cannot wrap my head around the continual-21st century-yet-mid evil thinking. And I mean EVIL. Do these men ever introduce any bills other than ones involving abortions and limiting women’s rights? Is work the only place they get to talk about ‘down there’? Argggggg
1Well then, since it takes two to make a baby (in most cases) then the father should also retroactively become a felon and lose their voting rights too. Its only fair.
2Do I hear an amendment being offered?
Well, I guess the only way to avoid the repercussions is for every woman in Texas to become a lesbian. No birth control worries there. And no sex for Texas men, unless they all turn gay too. And equip every Texas woman and female child with a cattle prod (I’m not keen on guns) to fend off any potential rapists and abusers.
Note: yes, I know people cannot just change sexual orientation. I am trying to be as brainless as the jack wagon quoted above, and it’s quite a strain.
PS: Men can make abortion policy when mermaids make shoes.
3I’d like to ask Tinderholt, if the devil came to earth how might he best dress himself up to fool God fearing individuals? Would he perhaps arrive looking like the image of God? Might he not claim to promote God’s will? Perhaps he’d drop a small hint, an “I told you so you should have been paying attention” comment or reference by making an allusion to hellfire. Like Tinder for instance?
It’s how it begins.
4Just another rock-ribbed solid ‘Family Values’ Rescummie…he’s clearly fixated on them thar ‘lady parts’, can’t see to holt onto them very well though:
“His current wife is the former Bethany Tyler, a one-time Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. She is Tinderholt’s fourth wife in his fifth marriage.[3]”

How about we make “Stupid” criminal in the TX Code? Would that work? How many thousands of new prisons would we need? To hold ‘Teh Stupid’.
I have no idea what the abortion rate is among all women, but I doubt it’s over 20%.
5Lets see here, ~330M Amurikkkans, divided by ~two = 165M, 20% of 165M is 33 Million wimmen needing to be locked up ASAP; yeah, that’ll work. Now, how many more prisons for all them wimmen?
How long before Amurikkka is nothing but prisoners and guards, I guess. Oh, and F’ed up legislators.
I think we need to keep repeating some statistics until they sink in:
59% of women who had abortions in 2014 had at least one child;
45% were married or cohabiting with a male partner;
75% were at or near the poverty line.
Women overwhelmingly have abortions due to economic circumstances. They might welcome a(nother) child if they could afford it. They cannot.

6“I’m not saying, I’ve never said, and the bill doesn’t say that abortion will be abolished and illegal,” Nope. Abortion won’t be abolished and illegal, but it will be a felony. Apparently illegal doesn’t mean what Tony thinks it does, or he thinks only women are felons. Difficult to determine if Tony thinks, period. What a maroon.
Hey Tony, how about some education and health care for those children you want to force birth?
7“a firm believer that God creates children in his own image, regardless of how that child is brought into the world, it’s created in his image, and how can someone want to destroy that?”
8Has he forgotten to ask God why, TX in particular, is nearly last in child care, healthcare for mommas, education, incomes for the unwashed, treatment of non-whites, voter restrictions for nonrepubs, the list goes on for all those fetuses that are allowed to live; eg, like him?
If God is so all-powerful, why is this even a topic?
Maybe he has stock in the private prison system.
Then there are the various wars here and abroad that seem to create a lot of personal damage. Why does God allow that?
And, of course, the really biggie ? – why does God allow Cretans like him to obtain power over those he can now look down upon, even control without their consent; ie, here’s looking at you, repub voters.
And, of course, Drumpf just reinstated the abortion international gag rule, which forbids healthcare workers abroad from mentioning abortion as a family planning alternative and prevents the US government from giving aid to any organization which does. Regan was the first to instate it. Bill Clinton abolished it. Bush reinstated it. Obama abolished and now the p****y grabber reinstates.
9Addendum: My comments about God could give one the impression that I’m anti or nonbeliever in God. Quite the contrary; I’m a firm believer. So why did I use the rhetorical format I used?
10Hey I don’t think ok’ Tinderbox is a Cretan, y’all (doesn’t look Greek to me-now GEEK, heck yeah), but he may be a cretin…we’ll blame $&@? autocorrect!
11Once again Texas shows itself to be a hotbed of Devolutionary Activity. If this keeps up soon monkeys will be suing the GOP for a separate family tree.
12Anybody know his contact information?
13Good statistics at #6, Annabelle Lee.
Also, last I saw: half of pregnancies in the US are unintended, and half of those are to people who thought they WERE using birth control.
14He related to Tommy Timbertoes from HighLights Magazine for children?
15Wow! And what would he do to the voting rights of men who forced women to get abortions! This thing, if it gets any farther, is headed to SCOTUS on wheels.
16Now I get it!
The Republicans are going to make abortion illegal and close down Planned Parenthood so women will not be able to get low cost birth control.
Ditto with health insurance.
And the Republicans will close the budget gap by having for profit orphanages! Think of the money maker that would be!
17“for profit orphanages”
Don’t give Trump any ideas Diane. When he figures out manufacturing isn’t coming back to the USA, he’ll have to find some kind of employment opportunity that won’t be outsourced to China. And if he builds the orphanages in partnership with churches, he’ll have evangelicals on board. As long as they get government money to take care of the kids. Because, that’s different than EBT and WIC for actual biological mothers.
18What I think is that women should just say, fine, but unless we get the products, services, and help we need we’ll just abstain.
19Why are men considered not responsible for unintended babies? Sheesh.
His offic number is: 817-478-5000.
Not sure why he is calling for police protection as he is extremely tight with the open carry mafia down here. And I am sure as a true blue Texan he has a machine gun around somewhere for home defense.
20Why do I immediately think that no woman has been “‘personally responsible’ with sex” with Mr. Tinderholt for some time now?
21Thank you, fry1laurie! That guy is a walkin, talkin contraceptive! But then, maybe Mr. Conehead says he’s “from France”.
22Okay. Let me throw this out here. Those experienced in law can shoot me down.
The government insisting a woman must carry a baby to term can be interpreted as acting as a parent. Thus making the state responsible for the financial costs of raising that child from birth to legal age.
Discuss.
23Mmmmm. Well that ends any sex for Texas men. Hey, it worked for women in Ancient Greece. End war and until you do no sex. Let’s try it. Remember, we girls have great substitutes for the boys weenies.
24Here’s a Plan:
All males to be given “The Snip” at the age of puberty.
They would then be allowed to have consensual sex with whomever they could convince to congress.
They would be able to petition to be restored to reproductive status at the age of 25 years. They would be required to pass certain tests to be given this privilege. (No anti-social behavior such as rape, murder, domestic violence, etc.) Education achievements, community activities, etc., would all be qualifying experiences.
Any male who fails to maintain a civilized social behavior would be denied reproductive status. Any violent male (rape, murder, domestic violence, etc.) would be permanently sterilized with removal of their testes.
Just think of all the disruptive and violent behavior which our society would be spared.
25It took effort but we have someone that can beat Louie Gohmert in stoopid.

27@Mel thank you
28@ WA skeptic– great plan. Why IS it women seem to be held 100% responsible of a 50-50 activity? And, as pointed out in the poem recited by Ashley Judd: women pay for like items men receive tax free or covered by insurance. I’m all in for finding someone to write a bill to curtail a mans’ reproductive organs!!!
How does that get started?
Jay: Women are held responsible because they can get pregnanty. As one wag once said, if men got preggers abortion would be a sacrement.
WA Skeptic: Here’s something you can share that should sober up any man. Roughly speaking, only 10,000 men (sperm donors) are required to continue the genetic diversity of the human race. The rest can be done away with as troublesome duplicates. Keep the best. Kill the rest.
Men seem to forget. He may have the seed but SHE is the garden. So treat your garden well and right.
29Oh… and guys? If you don’t want something unwanted to grow, then be careful where you sling your seed. Just sayin….
30I have a question to mr. Tinderholt, if God makes every child in his image, why are they not invisible?
31I would like to meet his sorry ass in the tahadi ring!
32Yikes.
If God created Mr. Tinderholt in His own image, then God is Humpty Dumpty.
I repeat: YIKES!
