  1. Thank You Ms. B.

The local paper seems to have been caught totally unaware. This is fantastic news for the Biggio family, and for the entire City of Houston. I have my #7 Craig Biggio jersey….. ready and waiting….. to celebrate.

I am a Craig Biggio fan…. I loved the way he played the game on the field. He loved the game, and always gave it 100%. An All-Star at (2) positions…… Catcher and 2nd Base. 3,060 hits. Twenty years with the same team.

I am appreciative of the way the conducted himself off the field. His work with “The Sunshine Kids” (kids with cancer).
He asked for, and got a special dispensation from the Commissioner of MLB to wear that little yellow sunshine pin on his cap, during games. Although, I suspect he would have done it anyway.

When he retired to “spend time with his family”…. he did. He coached both his sons in high school baseball, and won State Championships two years. He coached his daughter in softball.

Craig Biggio is class act. And, in my opinion….The Major League Baseball Hall of Fame is better with him in it.

    JMHO.

He has been my favorite Astro since he joined the team; he is just a great guy! And I liked Joe Morgan and Mark Lemongello too, when I was about 10; we used to have the transistor radio on the Astros while we did yard work with my Dad! Poor. Mark flipped his lid though 🙁

  6. Isn’t that super fabulous? I love Bidge, he seems such a decent guy and I loved that his uniform was always dirty (meaning that he busted his ass every day). I feel the same way about him as I do about the adorable JJ Watt: if they turn out to be weasels, I will be crushed. But I don’t think that will happen.

  7. This was from back when the Astros were in the National League and I loved them. Since then they have jumped leagues and I jumped sports to soccer and the Dynamo. But those were some great teams and great times!

Um, the Astros didn’t jump, they were shoved by that $&*%# commissioner who has an interest in either the twins or the brewers, can’t remember which!! Anyway, I gave up on baseball for good after that >:#
But I STILL admire Craig Biggio!
