Yep, That’s the Problem
I have to drive through LaMarque on my way to Galveston. In the future, I won’t drink the water or breathe the air.
Connie Trube, a two-term La Marque City Council member, made the comments while discussing the financial and academic troubles in the La Marque Independent School District with the husband of a political adversary, reported KPRC-TV.
“It’s not going to get any better until you get those blacks off the school board,” Trube says on the recording. “She really turned black. She got on the school board with the rest of the blacks and they all just ganged up and that’s why the school system has gone to hell.”
And then, she refused to apologize. Even though she has been censured by city council, she ain’t backing down.
“What is on the tape is nothing more than me stating my honest opinion, and I don’t back down from that,” Trube said. “I never denied what was on the tape.”
But, of course, we’re being intolerant of her intolerance if we ask her to be tolerant.
Thanks to Chickenbonewill for the heads up.
About time someone nailed that witch with her own words. Sheesh.
1Ya know, it might be useless to get her to understand what she is and has done. Gotta tell eyer though that her thoughts are her own and should be carefully guarded somewhere down deep in her consciousness, especially if what she thinks is so cherished by herownself. Then run her through a quick course on simple manners and tact. You know that tact thing used by diplomats, when they tell you to go to hell and it sounds like a fascinating trip?
2You shouldn’t drink the water and breathe the air down there. I remember driving by open ponds full of waste water from the refineries and the off gas stacks lit up like birthday candles on an octogenarian’s cake in the late 1970s.
Sometimes you couldn’t tell the difference between the stacks and the burning crosses. Guess the stacks are gone but other things remain the same.
3So that’s why the school district has gone to hell. I guess it could not have been the anti-intellectual, anti-science, narrow-minded, hate-filled white folk who “…ganged up…”
4and set education back two thousand years.
I may abhor her racist attitude, but I admire that she stands by the words she said. I really hate the mealy-mouthed “I’m sorry you were offended by what I say” approach that is the non-apology most often expressed by politicians. Or the “I didn’t mean it how it sounded.”
Now that her intolerance is in the open, people can make it clear to her that most folks find it unacceptable. And it sounds like that is what many folks are doing.
Hopefully this means another bigot in power loses her platform.
5It’s not going to get any better until you get these bigots off the City Council.
6That’s appalling. I mean, one expects that from Santa Fe, bu La Marque?
7Brown VS “Board of Education” still has not taken hold in the deep south.
8Yeah, and the Koch brothers want schools resegregated and are willing to pay to make it happen. Just google it. And one article is about how they are fulfilling their father’s dream of resegregating public schools. Separate but equal and all that. It would be interesting to see how many private or charter schools there are in LaMarque and if any Dan Patrick supporters are movers and shakers there.
9p.s. I think she looks mean.
10Please get this woman into the salon, she’s in desperate need of a new hair style. Her hate and bigotry probably come from looking in the mirror

No wonder she hates how people look: she must have finally looked in the mirror and found out what she looks like. I’ve seen crawdads that are better looking. Her hate matches her physiognomy.
12“God made the idiot for practice. Then he made the school board.” Mark Twain.
13There is no limit. People say exactly what’s on their “minds.” Well, I will say what’s on my mind. This is a stupid, ignorant old toad of a woman, who deserves to be drowned under a bridge somewhere. No one will mourn. Why do we put up with crap like this?
14did she get Kate Gosslin’s old hair?
