Yeah, I’ve Been Busy

July 28, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

In case you’re wondering where I have been for the past 48 hours, I’ve been busy.

Silver Democrats of Fort Bend has a headquarters and an Obama Shop up and running in the city of Rosenberg.

We did it all in Texas heat with no air conditioning so it could be ready for today’s meeting at the new headquarters.  We got the air conditioner working at about 11:00 so that meant we quit growling at each other about noon.

A few of us stayed around afterwards basking in the fact that we have a headquarters with wifi and a kitchen.  What else do you need?

Silver Democrats are all over the age of 55 and we are one damn fine looking group of people.  We had about 40 people at our meeting this morning and then a hunk of us all went to lunch together.

We start getting serious about this stuff in the middle of August so we wanted a place to call home before the cavalry shows up to kick hiney and take names.

Political prognosticators say that my county will be the first suburban county in Texas to flip.  Once it does – Barack Obama got 49% of the vote here in 2008 – Texas begins flipping.  Once Texas flips, game over.

I’m good tired, have about a gazillion emails to read, and need to get some laundry done before my whole house smells like the boys’ locker room.

That’s where I’m been.  Like I said, it’s a good tired.

Be social and share!

This is the kind of flipping and flopping that I long for.

  2. Let’s hope a lot more counties and states follow suit.

This is great. My mother, 79, is very tired of the press always lumping her with Republicans because she’s old.

Really upsets her. We both love your blog and love yelling at the TV.

Great Job. Wish there was a possibility of turning blue up here in Denton County, but not for a while:(

I have seen a couple of Dewhurst ads that make me want to throw something at the TV. In one he describes himself as a Real Conservative, Cut Taxes and Cut Spending.

In the other he is hating on President Obama and his “Amnesty”. Dewhurst says the solution is to Triple the Size of the Border Patrol. Wonder how you do that while cutting taxes and spending?

I am so sick of sitting at a red light up here and looking at hundreds of candidate signs all proclaiming “Conservative…”

Thanks for your work and patience in Ft Bend County. I’m in Tarrant County. It will probably be among the last counties in the state to have a majority of voters with connected brain cells. Mrs Dokie is getting really tired of me screaming every time a Dewhurst or Cruz ad comes on TV.
