Yeah, But Hot Dog Prices Are Outrageous
To be rudely honest, Republican presidential wannabe Chris Christie eats a lot. During the 2010 and 2011 football season he ate $82,594 worth of food at sporting events. He paid for it with taxpayer money.
I’m gonna guess that Christie entertained other folks but he refuses to say who they are or what they ate. I’m suspecting he invited Canada.
My Uncle Booger is wanted by Weight Watchers dead or alive but even he can’t figure out how to spend that much money at football games unless he bought everybody a beer and some air for Tom Brady’s footballs.
I’m thinking there were lots of to-go boxes involved.
Can you even imagine the cost of state dinners if he gets elected President? One billion dollars for Papa John’s pizzas.
Gluttony can be very political. Can’t understand why all them RWNJ Xtians don’t see that.
1Now why didn’t I think of this? One of the guys here suggested that maybe all that “food” money also covered some ladies of the night. The Guv uses a private box at these games. That private box is damn near close to being a studio apartment complete with private facilities and such. But then I am just a shuffling little old granny . . .
2Heck of a lot of hot dogs. Even with the inflated prices at sports events.
3He does have a budget of $95K to fiddle with. I personally think this is all a big nothing. If he were a skinny guy no one would say a damned thing. As a liberal so far to the left I almost fall off the page, this smacks of fat shaming. As odious as Christie is, he isn’t doing anything illegal.
4Does it matter?
Krispy Kreme is only a “Canary Song” away from indicted and needing soap on a rope…
With everyone around him looking to cop a plea deal you can bet it will happen sooner than later…
5A guy who works at the Pentagon invited a friend of mine to dinner at an expensive place. When my friend wanted to pay, the Pentagon guy took the check. “The government’s paying for it anyway.” Pentagon guy did not understand my friend’s remark that that made it worse. Their association had absolutely nothing to do with any Pentagon or government business. I don’t suppose those sports events did either.
6No, Gindy. Crispy Cream deserves the ridicule.
7Nobody expects that our elected officials live like beggers, but there is such a thing as “too high” off the hog. As a matter of fact, and Obama detractors sure went nuts when he took 5 million sycophants on that India trip.
8One thing can be said for Christie -He aint stupid- The people who voted him in however are so ignorant that saying they are stupid would be giving them a compliment.
9How is that people rant about those on food stamps who occasionally buy something decent to eat on taxpayers’ dollar but will excuse some rich guy spending over $80,000 of taxpayers’ dollar on junk food. So a $100 a month food allowance vs $7000 a month food allowance and it’s the poor who should be shamed but not the rich fat ass.
10I’m pretty sure the high mucky-mucks that make the annual fall migration back to Aggieland and have sky boxes at Kyle Field (currently undergoing a 450 million buck upgrade to meet SEC standards-shudder) have their various shindigs CATERED with fine foods, wines, and other libations. Some of them are politicians too-Bill Flores? Rick Perry? I’m sure Mr Christie is far too important to gorge himself on mere Ball Park Franks, after all!
11Last time I was at Texas Stadium, I thought it was a bit much to pay $300 for popcorn so he’s probably not buying that much.
(Seriously though, when it costs the average Joe $75 just to park your car at the new stadium…)
