Y’all, Louie Makes My Head Hurt
Louie has become a damn philosopher.
After another mass shooting, Louie said these actual and real words in the English language …
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) responded to Monday’s shooting at the Washington Navy Yard by calling for more people to be armed, and insisted that blaming guns was like saying that obesity was caused by “too many spoons.”
Aunt Thelma, God rest her soul, used to say, “Girl, you’re talking and there’s words coming out of your mouth. But, honey, you ain’t saying nothing.”

You know, they have crazy people and violent video games in Canada, too. But they don’t have people shooting up places. You think that’s because they don’t have spoons?

1That “too many spoons” line is what passes for an insightful, hard-hitting argument from the gun obsessives. Absolutely no surprise that Gohmert would latch on to it.
2If we can’t blame the guns, can we blame the bullets?
Of course, throwing bullets at people usually isn’t too harmful, so I guess we do have to blame the guns.
3On another front, Gov. O’Malley just bitch-slapped Lil Ricky in the WaPo this morning, very politely of course. The “pro Texas” attempted business-stealing ads have been playing on our Teevees around these parts:

4A gun doesn’t just stand up and shoot something. It takes a human being to pull the trigger. Some of the humans pulling triggers around here seem to have serious issues with their mental health. Seems to me that the least the public deserves is the same strength of protection and regulation as our laws provide in the case of motor vehicles. After all, a car just doesn’t start itself and run down pedestrians any more than a gun starts shooting without some lug nut behind the wheel or pulling the trigger!
5If we won’t enact sensible gun regulation, we should save time and just keep our flags at permanent half-mast.
6And that “Good guy with a gun stopping the bad guy with a gun” argument? Two of the dead and injured were a security guard and a police officer—both armed. If they didn’t stop the shooter, how the hell is average Joe Schmo going to do it?
Unfortunately, President Obama has become the Funeral Director-in-Chief. He’s always having to visit grieving families of these domestic terror attacks. Is it any wonder nothing gets done in Washington?
7It’s like blaming too many words and their peculiar arrangement in a sentence that makes them sound idiotic. When often it’s clear the real cause is too little brains in the person speaking.
8Hurrah for O’Malley! A Bronx cheer for Louie-louie! A thousand decibel raspberry for High Priest of the Gun Cult LaPierre. None of his pro-gun arguments make sense, especially when meditated upon at a grave site.

10I really had thought in 2008 that the Great Recession brought on by 8 years of Bush would lead to a paradigm shift like that of the Great Depression. Obama may have gotten elected twice and passed the ACA, but there is no paradigm shift as long as the Scalia Supremes and the Kochs and the Faux Nooz 20k Millionaires and LaPierres are still carrying on business as usual.
11I have this dream that someday Louie The Louse will say something that actually makes sense. And the entire world will come to a stop with a collective gasp.
12Nutters were born with opposable natures,not thumbs. They are natural obstinate and contrary by nature. Autos,when used as designed,are not intended to kill mass volumes of humans,although it can be used for that purpose. Assault rifles-the AR and M-16s were designed to penetrate enemy helmets at 500 yards and achieve full-auto firing. That is what they were made for-to kill,kill,kill. Just because this last gunner did not posess an assault rifle is probably little consolation to the dozen or so victims who did not have to die! It is beyond past time to put the NRA and their friends in congress out to pasture. We MUST demand sensible gun control regs,the NRA be damned!!
13Spoons don’t cause obesity, spoons loaded with food cause obesity, just like guns loaded with bullets cause death!
14If someone opened Louie’s skull and spooned out his brain, I don’t think that what he says would change at all.
15TTPT, to further deflate the “good guy with a gun” argument, this guy not only shot an armed security guard, he took the guard’s pistol and started using it to shoot more people. So that worked well…. Same thing could happen with an armed security guard at schools– or are we supposed to have several armed guards at each entrance?
I feel bad for his mother– she said that she doesn’t know why he did this and never will know, but she’s so sorry for the victims and their families, and is glad that her son is now where he can’t hurt anybody else….
16In Louie’s drab, painful world it’s all about spoons and asparagus … Louie is in a sad, sad place!
17So, using Louie’s logic, he should propose arming every nation with NBC weapons. That would be the only way to keep us all safe…
Just asking, but ever wonder why gunshow managers and participants prohibit carrying LOADED weapons into a gunshow. Seems you can do it everywhere else…

26Perry would be explaining to the shooting survivors and victim’s families that the wealthy need more taxbreaks and the violence would disappear. Can’t have enough guns or taxbreaks. Wonder how many people would have died if rethugs manage to do away with socialist programs like metro p.d. and first responders?
