Louie, Louie … Oh Louie, you’ve dived into the deep end.
Speaking on the House floor Friday afternoon, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) claimed President Obama’s foreign policy in the Middle East was “a massive beginning of a new Ottoman Empire that [he] can take great credit for.” Gohmert continued, “This president is trying to buy affection from people who are bullies, who are radical Islamists, who want to destroy us.” The Texas Republican has a history of Islamophobic behavior.
Somebody please tell Louie what caused the fall of the Ottoman Empire – ethnic battles within the empire. You know, the same kind of battles that Louie hopes will bring down the United States of America.
