  5. I love this quote, because, who doesn’t discuss high finance over a couple of chocolate dipped Dilly Bars in Texas?

“I can’t take your money. God doesn’t want me to take your money,” Mapp told Paxton during a meeting at a Dairy Queen.”

  6. I am glad this will be a federal case and no state court in TX will hear it because in every recent case involving a GOP/TP politician in TX

  7. Oops, something happened with my laptop and my comment posted before I finished writing it.

I am glad this will be a federal case and no state court in TX will hear it because in every recent case involving a GOP/TP politician in TX, the TX State Supreme Ct. has dismissed all charges, which is something that smacks of political favor and corruption.

I’m sure the Collin Co DA is happy about this. The feds have a lot more expertise in these sorts of crimes. Collin County may not have the resources for expert witnesses and such.

  9. Elizabeth Moon says:

Wait…God didn’t want Mapp not to take Paxton’s money? Because…um…maybe it was sortakinda dirty money and Mapp should not get his fingers dirty?

About the time one good ol’ boy brings God into a business discussion with another good ol’ boy, the smarter good ol’ boy will hightail it outa that business.

Hope the Feds hold his feet to the fire this time. He committed his crimes while a State Rep. What a bunch of crooks. Paxton really burned his “friends” badly. How did he ever get elected AG?

  12. @Okie Dokie

I think I read somewhere that Paxton and Willis were or are bidness partners, bffs etc.

  13. majiir: “political favor and corruption”? In Texas? Oh, surely not.

  16. This has made it into the Washington Post this AM and no, it is not a teeny one incher!

  17. Linda Phipps says:

I will believe this when they drag him off in cuffs. Like all snakeshit republican offenders he will use his (ill-gotten) money to drag this on forever.

    17
  18. A lot of right wingers believe that the rules don’t apply to them.

Unfortunately, in Red States they appear to be correct.

  19. Marge Wood says:

I heard it at the drugstore newspaper stand and ranted a bit about Ken the Crook to the clerk. Gotta get in a lick every chance.
