Whoa, Cowboy, Pull In On Them Reins

August 21, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Not in MY lifetime, you won’t.

As outlined in a memo the campaign released Saturday, Romney plans to repeal the Affordable Care Act in its entirety, and thus to spend over $700 billion more on the program in the coming decade than the government would spend if the health care law stands.

That commitment would leave Medicare poised for insolvency in 2016, years before he proposes to phase in the voucher system. Which means Romney would have two options: find new Medicare cuts or taxes to extend the life of the program, or preside over its demise.

Mitt Romney has never faced flank of Rollator warriors.

And in another interesting note ….

Well then, Cutie Pie, what Party does he belong to?  Hell, Darlin’, if he can’t get his own Party to agree with him, then why should anybody else?

Thanks to Brian and David for the heads up.

Another day, another position, another lie. This campaign really is based on drumming up the Hate Obama vote and keeping everyone else from voting.

  2. Now that it’s official that Toddler Akin refuses to go away after exposing his love for sperm, can we at least get him to apologize for his comb-over?

  3. The more Priebus says, the more I think of those consonants in his name. RNC PR BS, lol.

David – those consonants do indeed tell us all we need to know. Love that so much!

As someone getting close to Medicare – in fact, my husband has to work longer to wait for me to get on because we cannot afford private insurance – I am deeply and truly angry at the GOP for its lies and its plans to ditch Medicare and privatize Social Security. We’ve worked hard all of our lives, played by the rules, and I will not tolerate them trying to push us into the ditch.

My parents had to have full-time nursing home care, so I had to preside over the liquidation of their estate until it dwindled down until they hit rock bottom to qualify for Medicaid. I watched the nursing home struggle to provide adequate care as their budgets shrank.

Why is the GOP so damned intent upon bankrupting our seniors? The younger generations can barely take care of themselves. In fact, many of them are relying upon their parents and grandparents because they’re having trouble getting started. The GOP is responsible for the crisis we faced because they wanted wars we didn’t need to have, deregulated the financial industry and in general didn’t give a darn about the middle class, the elderly, the infirm, or children. In the past four years – and particularly the last two, they’ve done everything they could to obstruct any positive recovery and growth.

Sorry – preaching to the choir, I realize, but they make me so furious that I simply have to vent before I scream in frustration. Anyone who votes for a Republican does not have the good of our country at heart. Anyone who does not vote is responsible for the GOP winning.

Grrrr – bad GOP, bad, bad GOP.

  5. Or we could just send the medical bills to Mittens. He’s got plenty.

  6. The Republican party has fallen victim to the mutant, deranged clone meme so popular in science fiction. The main stream Republican party of old has become the Wall Street party, the Tea Party party, the Ron Paul party, and the Batsh*t Crazy party.

  7. “The Republican party, which has supported a constitutional ban on abortion since 1984, has once again officially endorsed such a ban without exceptions for rape, incest or a threat to the mother’s life, according to reports.

If adopted by the party next Monday at a vote in Tampa, the official anti-abortion position will be more conservative than that held by its presidential candidate, Mitt Romney.

The language was approved by the Republican platform committee on Tuesday morning, according to the New York Times.

Pro-choice Republicans expressed disappointment and said that the document does not reflect the beliefs of the majority of the party but a more extreme view of the right.”

Considering that the same statement has been in at least the last 3 or 4 GOP platforms, it’s getting hard to say the extremists are not in control of the party.

So apparently they want a 12-year-old girl raped by her father to be forced to bear a full-term baby… if she could.

No exception for a threat to the mother’s life. So her life is worth less than the fetus, and if they both die, including that 12-year-old rape victim, that’s just fine with the GOP.

Why does anyone vote for these ugly brutes? Is it just ignorance of what they really stand for?

    Dear Juanita Jean,

I was introduced to your column a few weeks back. I have not enjoyed reading a political column so much since Miss Molly left us.

These sweethearts richly deserve the whompin’ they get at your hands. Please keep it up.

I have the honor to be one of your many admirers,

    David

Mitt isn’t the only one; W said “I don’t agree with everything in the platform, but I stand with the Republican Party” whatever that means. McCain just flat said he had never read it.

  10. Best Idea so far ~ EVERYONE SEND THEIR MEDICAL BILLS TO MITTENS ~ he has ALL the money~

  11. Don A, while I agree that it’s the “Hate Obama” campaign, it isn’t the same old, same old. Not when the codified Republican platform supports these extremists. Not when Republican governors shove thru legislation to block and delay abortion and contraception. Not when the average Tea Party (right-right wing) now supports these platforms and legislation.

This is not the same old, same old. The more this crap is solidified and codified into the GOP party, the more it becomes mainstream, and the more the GOP voter will accept it. No, this is different.

This is the screaming of a party that has become the “spoiled-brat” party, the party that has decided that it’s not only OK to hate, but actually desireable to hate their own people and constituents. This is the screaming of a party that has decided that winning is everything, and they must be top dog, ignoring the fact that they have responsibilities to govern and work with reality. This is the party that has become slavish fans and devotees of the uber-rich and the corporations, worshipping a edited version of the Bible with the instinctive nonthought of the slavish fan towards an object, rather than the thought of the actual follower.

This is not the same old, same old, and we cannot think about it that way.
