Whistlestop Wacky Tour

Okay, okay, here’s the deal about Donald Trump and his $10,000 portrait purchased by his foundation and is currently residing at his golf course.

Take a deep breath.

An adviser to Donald Trump on Tuesday offered a new explanation for why a portrait of Trump — paid for by the Republican nominee’s charitable foundation — wound up on display at a Trump-owned golf resort in Florida.

Trump, the adviser said, was actually doing his charity a favor, by “storing” its painting on the wall of a bar at Trump National Doral, outside Miami.

The adviser may not be sober but he’s serious.  I warned you to take a deep breath.

“It’s hard to make an IRS auditor laugh,” Brett Kappel, a lawyer who advises nonprofit groups at the Akerman firm, said in an email. “But this would do it.”

Actually, it makes my eyes roll back in my head.

Here’s my question:  if he’s just storing it until he uses it for a chartiable reason, what the fool tarnation does he plan on doing with it?  Hey, last I heard Vicente Fox was looking for a new dart board.  Or he could donate it to the Carter Foundation to be used for drywall.

Be social and share!

  1. My God! One seven year old fantasy story after another! Donnie should be out in public without a keeper — or maybe several of them with a large net and a hypo loaded with tranquilizers.

  2. I have a feeling it wouldn’t work as drywall. Probably a little puddle of ick would keep oozing down below it.

    2
  3. I have a couple of large paintings stored for charitable purposes too.

    3
  4. It’s actually more charitable to keep that thing hidden away from the public eye. Its eyes probably follow you too, while it sniffs. Chill down my spine.

    4
  5. Can’t really use it for drywall, anything with Trump on it is probably warped

Nobody sees it. It’s in an attic somewhere and it’s gotten really ugly. “The Portrait of Dorian Trump”.

    6
  7. Trump is clearly going through a Mid-Lie crisis.

He paid how much so he could store it?

Interesting story, Rhea. Until I read the first sentence I thought da Chipster wrote it.

  9. JAK and Rhea, the story of Dorian Gray is exactly what leapt to mind. So when is that drumpf painting going to hideously morph, because it is seriously behind schedule? Perhaps it’s a twist on the original story and instead the living character morphs, because drumpf has got ugly all over him, and the rest is oozing out of his mouth. That bloated body can not contain the massive quantity of accumulated vileness.

    10
  10. How much is he charging his charity to store the ugly portrait?

    11
  11. Is this a portrait of Hair Drumpf in the foreground with a less than accurate portrayal of Jesus of Nazareth in an inferior position behind Hair Drumpf??

O never mind that as Doc Demerol wasn’t it?

    12
  12. Oh my goodness! (Picture eyes rolling back). That there is one BIG whopper of a lie. Who or what in a right mind would pay for a painting of orange butt? Although I did like the image of a dart board I think the subject matter would cause such laughter that the darts would go every which way.

  13. JAKvirginia says:

Rhea: re: pic link. I framed in to get a better look. DT never in his life looked that good. Who knew? Drumpf found a painter who lies as good as he dies!

    14
  14. Linda Phipps says:

The only worse painting I can imagine is the one of Ben Carson and Jesus. At least he paid for that himself.

    15
  15. I heard that Trump is charging the venue storage fees for keeping the portrait there. If that is the case, then he is making money off his foundation’s purchase. Whaddaguy

    16
  16. Maybe it’s a Christmas present for Putin.
