Well, You Gotta Admit That He’s a Sweet Man
Rick Perry is a sweet man. He’s staying in the GOP Presidential race just to beat up on the other candidates for us. In fact, he’s spending one million dollars on Fox News just for that purpose. Being as how he has already sold every ambassadorship, FEMA head, and even directorships of departments he’s going to eliminate, he has to do something with all that money and slapping Mitt Romney seems like a plan to me.
In an aggressive move to pull his campaign out of the trough after his Wednesday night debate performance, Gov. Rick Perry of Texas has effectively bought himself a chunk of the Fox News Channel, buying nearly $1 million of advertising time on the network.
Assuming that much of his advertising will run on the top-rated Fox programs of Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity – but plenty during the day, too — the move is a Hail Mary pass meant to halt any slide from his embarrassing memory lapse at the debate Wednesday and shore up his poll numbers and fund-raising base.
I have friends who swear up and down that Rick is sabotaging himself because he doesn’t want to be President near as much as Anita wants to be First Lady. I guess if he wets his pants tonight in the debate, we’ll know they are right.
I’ll be watching tonight and might even have a few comments here during or afterward.
