Well, This Pretty Much Explains the South
Come to find out, there are side effects to heat.
Harvard researchers say that they studied students in dorms with and without air conditioning and during a heat wave. They found that the students suffering through the heat performed worse on a series of cognitive tests.
Need I say more about Southern senators? Bless their hearts.
Thanks to Bryan for the heads up.
And all this time we thought it was too many mint julep cocktails.
1Heat may be a factor, but hate is the motivator.
2And with climate change, it’s just getting worse.
It’s been in the mid 80s in London recently, which is really hot for them, and they often don’t have A/C– could explain why May’s cabinet is falling apart.
3Another reason why Republicans actively encourage global warming…
4The correlation between heat waves and increases in violent crime has been established for some time.
5Heat/hate, hate/heat. Great catch maryelle. They can’t tell the difference, nor do they care.
6Having traveled enough south of the Mason-Dixon Line, must absolutely agree. Have also sub teachered in local public schools during one of the worst September heat waves on record. Even with all the windows open it was a no-go and there were super nasty fights among the kids. Gasping for air as I was, I don’t know where they got the energy.I also don’t know why the Superintendent didn’t just shut the schools for awhile until the heat wave died out just as they would for a nasty snowfall in winter. I must say that my grandchildren in Aladamnbama attend air conditioned schools and they start in August fer pete’s sake bit the local wisdom is that it is so hot outside they may as well be inside learning something.
