Well, There Ya Go

November 11, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Y’all, Bob Dole endorses erectile dysfunction drugs and … well, the opposite.

Jeb Bush picked up a highly-touted endorsement Wednesday. Former U.S. senator and Republican presidential candidate Bob Dole announced his support of the former Florida Governor.

Well, that locks up the Centennial vote.

I guess he heard wrong when they said that Jeb! has electile dysfunction.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

  1. And a lot of potential voters are saying, “Bob who?”

    2
  2. Does he have dementia?

    3
  3. Electile Dysfunction: That graphic of Jeb! with the flaccid exclamation point droops to mind!

    Does he have dementia?

They all have dementia, or flatout, full-bore, bat-crap insanity.

Close to 50% of a voting pool of what, 80-100 million, are clinically delusional.
Dole at least has a valid excuse, his old age (he’s actually made some sense the last few times I’m seen him interviewed).

Any of these demagogues make it to the White House and we are doomed.

  6. For electile dysfunction, there’s buy-agro.

    7
  7. Holy cow, Dole looks frail. I never minded the guy too much. But – other than corralling the 80-something-old-white-folks vote – he’s not doing any candidate a favor these days by speaking out for him.

    8
  8. @daChipster – +1

    9
  9. SNL parodied Dole unmercifully years ago. I think it was Dan Akroyd who impersonated him and his flat-voiced Dole-isms during his own unsuccessful presidential campaign against Bill Clinton in 1966. May his endorsement be the kiss of death for the e-dysfunctional Bush.

    10
  10. That should have been 1996.

    11
  11. At least Bob Dole knew his name (“Bob Dole thinks we need…”). Jeb Bush doesn’t even make any sense.
J.E. Bush Bush? J.E. Double Bush?

maryelle, I knew it was 1996. That was the first and last times I’ve ever been contacted by pollsters. Was a young lad then; even my two older sisters were still living at home, where our parents still had a landline. Back then campaign staff members did some of the polling for the candidate. Had several long conversations and laughs with a member of the McCain staff. My impression of Senator Dole at the time was that he really did not want the nomination (maybe he already knew about his health?)

Having been rolled over by the Bush Crime Family in 2000 really stung McCain. Then having $arah Palin tied around his neck in 2008 was the final shove to his becoming an angry old man shouting at imaginary children “get off my lawn.”

Dole, probably the last Republican statesman. McCain, the last sane Republican, until he wasn’t sane.

  13. Crazy Quilter says:

It should be remembered on Veterans Day that Bob Dole served with great distinction in WWII. He was badly wounded by German machine gun fire and consequently never had full use of his right hand again. While campaigning he always carried a pen in his right hand because he couldn’t shake hands.

He received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star with a combat “V” for trying to assist a downed radioman.

While I disagreed with a lot of his and McCain’s politics they should be honored for their service.

  14. Crazy Quilter says:

Sorry, didn’t mean to sound preachy.

  15. Chas DeGeer says:

Bob Dole and Nancy Landon Baker gave Kansas some of the best service in the Senate ever – They would fight for party ideas but come together to advance the public weal. We have been short served since they left. Seems like every so often the Repubs offer up a war hero as a lamb for slaughter. McCain and Dole were two.

    16
  16. TruelyTexan says:

    @Crazy Quilter
I agree they should be honored for their service, but it should also be pointed out that, while they are all too happy to start wars and create more veterans, the repugs have a truly abysmal record on supporting those same veterans when they are done with them. Those who have served should know better.

    17
  17. Crazy Quilter – Thanks for your comment. Bob Dole served his country well. He and his friend Democratic Senator Dan Inouye were both seriously injured just days and miles apart in WWII, and later went on to be friends in the Senate. They didn’t always agree with the other’s policies, but they worked together, and shared a common bond far greater than politics.

  18. Bob Dole is an honorable man. He served the country with his military service and in the Senate. I may not agree with his political party on most things. but I have no reason to believe he is a terrible person. He chose Jeb, I suspect because of his heritage and family connections. I would be surprised if those other fools who are candidates could carry on a conversation with him….not that Jeb could either. It would be interesting to question Republican voters under 40 and see if they could tell you anything about him. He is kind of a dinosaur.

Crazy Quilter-here is Dole and Joe Scumborough talking about John Kerry.

SCARBOROUGH: Well, you sent a signal a few months back, and then, of course, a couple days ago you had this to say about John Kerry. Let me read the quote:
“Three Purple Hearts and never bled, that I know of. They’re such superficial wounds. Three Purple Hearts and you’re out. I think Senator Kerry needs to talk about his Senate record, which is pretty thin. That’s probably why he’s talking bout his war record, which is pretty confused.”
Obviously, that’s a very strong statement. As a respected public figure, as a war hero yourself, that that statement was going to make news. What compelled you to make it?
DOLE: I don’t know. I’m not out trying to stir up a lot of trouble.

    20
  20. So Jeb! will now get the Bob Dole demographic? How exciting!

    21
  21. Marge Wood says:

Is Dole still ALIVE? He and Elizabeth were big names when I was in high school or college. That’s been a few years, to put it mildly.

    22
  22. e platypus onion says:

In Kerry’s defense.I seriously doubt he would have mentioned his war record-which he earned and should have been proud of-imho,had not wingnuts decided to Swift Boat Kerry’s record.

    23
  23. @Diane

    No just erectile dysfunction.

    24
  24. PKM, as far as McCain being sane, he did make a very fine and gracious concession speech on Election Night 2008… causing me to ask, “Where the heck has that man been for the past year?”

    25
  25. That whole Repuglican swift boat crusade was one of the most dishonorable episodes in politics and Dole should be ashamed to have participated in it.

    26
  26. Chloe Bear says:

Do not care for Dole’s voting record or his stance on most issues. He did and does support the troops more than just by wearing a pin or making false statements. He fought hard for Veterans when he was in the Senate. Most Saturdays you will find him at the WWII Memorial greeting the Honor Flight Vets arriving by the busloads. He sits there for hours shaking hands, sharing hugs and stories and having his photograph taken with them. The Vets are overjoyed to see him and thank him for fighting for them.

These are Vets from all the wars and all over the country. They know who he is and you know they vote.

  27. JAKvirginia says:

Well now, c’mon. Look at that Klown Kar. Who else could he endorse?

    28
  28. e platypus onion says:

Can hear Dole now,I know many don’t like Bush ,but take an erectile dysfunction drug and you’ll be knocking knees with his ugly fiz in no time.

    29
  29. Last night Rachel Maddow recalled to our memories that Bush and Dole have had a long-time hate for one another; I can’t imagine why Dole is suddenly doing a solid for Jeb? unless Dole has had a stroke or something.
