Well, I Guess That Didn’t Work

February 28, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

A teacher at Dalton High School in Georgia used his trusty handgun to shoot off a round in his classroom this morning after locking the classroom door to students.

There was a school resource officer present at the time of the incident, Frazier said, though the officer’s exact location wasn’t immediately known.

The teacher, who had been employed by the school since 2004, was taken into custody about 45 minutes later without further incident and is expected to face charges, Frazier said.

I wonder if Trump’s NRA handlers have any more bright ideas.

You know, with gun sales down across the country because apparently Obama plum forgot to come take your guns, selling a gun to every school teacher in America made such good business sense.  What a real shame that it is such a bad idea.

What’s next? The NRA will be pushing to arm school students to protect themselves from armed teachers???

Living in a Republican world makes my head spin….and my stomach queasy.

  2. I was thinking about arming teachers ( stupid ), then I remembered Ft Hood. Two shootings, 4 and then 14 killed, now what is more secure and armed than an Army base. Think about that trump…arming teachers to protect students …STUPID.

  3. And, sure enough, the principal went right to mental illness: “He was fit to be at work and I’m not aware of any depression.”

    That’s what he said.

Hello? The mentally ill, generally, and depressed people specifically, are far more likely to be the victims of physical violence than the perpetrators of it. Aamof, they are more 4 x more likely to be victims than the general population. So let’s stop with this blame game, shall we?

But hey — we gotta find SOMETHING other than guns to blame gun violence on, don’tcha know?

I wish these people would make up their minds: first, “Arm the teachers”, and then NONONONO “Arrest the teacher for being armed”. A guy can’t get it right.

  5. Well, if you haven’t already heard it, a Kentucky school district voted to allow teachers to carry concealed guns:

Why not give them opioids as well? Easily acquired in Kentucky.

  6. Walmart just announced that guns wouldn’t be sold to those under 21. Second large retailer to do so. A small but significant step toward sanity. Hopefully.

  7. Real glad I don’t live in Kentucky and have kids in that school district. Don’t have to worry every morning as I send my kids off to school which of their teachers is carrying concealed. Not to mention how much more fun Parents’ Nights and PTA meetings would be.

I’m sure there are intelligent, competent gun owners out there, but the jackwagons keep making the news.

  8. What’s the point of having guns in the classroom if you never get to shoot them?

  9. Gotta say it again. There are private and parochial schools dotted all over the country. Some of them are located in the Garden of Eden while others in inner city. I would also like to include here military academies Esecially them inasmuch as they do have firearms and do teach riflery. Let’s really, really look at the private and parochial schools located in what is delicately referred to as downtown areas. Some of these areas are rife with illegal weapons and really bad crime statistics. So its not a castoff the outside trying to get inside. However, the kids in these downtown p and p schools actually do have some sort of access to weapons, considering the surroundings. So where are the stories of shoot -em ups on such campuses? What keeps a weaponized lunatic from their doors? The military academies are fortified but not the p and p bunch, so this is where I am just plain damn wondering: is it a matter of dumb luck or are the p and p’s so scary they are untouchable?

Georgia teacher apparently one time tried to confess to a murder.

Cuz its a bloody day in Georgia
Lord I believe its bloody all over the world….

How many times I wondered and it still turns out the same
No matter how many times you look at it or think of it
Its death and we’re all forced to play the NRA’s game.

My deepest, most humble apologies to the late, great Brook Benton.

BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS. I was thinking about getting some bumper stickers printed with that message. What do y’all think?
T shirts? Coffee mugs? I looked at that site for gun owners that Juanita Jean mentioned. I didn’t see any ads for products. SURELY there’s some stuff for sale on the net.
