Well – and thats a deep subject – I am up here within snorting distance of Capitol Hill and I am at a point where anything with “freedom” in the name or title just makes me nauseous. Essentially what these damn things are really is All Boys No Girls Allowed Pecker Measuring Distance Spitting Tall Tale Telling Club. I’ve seen Republican women members of Congress run the other way whenever the Freedom Caucus pops up. Tell you anything/
1As Janis Joplin so aptly sang, “Freedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to lose…” The rethugs have so cheapened the meaning of the word, that it is now a buzzword for depriving the average American of all rights, the exact opposite of its original meaning.
2“If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear..” If only Orwell were here to respond to the NFL crackdown on players’ right to peaceful protest, on Dump’s staggering ignorance of the first Amendment, among all of his ignorances. These are not insignificant annoyances, they are blows to which chip away at democracy’s core. Just as his demands to gain classified information in a special investigation. Slowly, but surely, we are losing our democracy.
Well, to be fair, Lubbock is a city where cows refuse to live.
3Texas County Clerks need to get together and agree that they well each and all refuse to register assumed names for organizations in which the person registering is legally intoxicated, stoned on recreational substances, or under the influences of otherwise legal drugs. My G*D half the OTC stuff I take says doan operate heavy machinery while your taking this stuff and County Clerks are registering names that were clearly picked by a random number generator.
