Well, Bless His Heart, He Does Have an Unfortunate Name
Customer Paul likes to make me feel better by reminding me that Texas isn’t the only clown show in town. I appreciate that.
Virginia is pulling up as a crazyville contender in recent months.
A Republican state lawmaker in Virginia stirred controversy on Tuesday when he used the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade to compare abortion to the Holocaust.
State Sen. Dick Black (R-13th District) took to the floor and likened abortion clinics to Nazi concentration camps, saying at both places horrors “were taking place behind closed doors.”
So, he would prefer medical procedures be done on Main Street with a viewing stand?
Women exercising their constitutionally guaranteed rights is the same as Nazis. I wonder why that’s not true for men with their guns?
But, the winner goes to …
A Republican lawmaker in New Mexico introduced a bill on Wednesday that would legally require victims of rape to carry their pregnancies to term in order to use the fetus as evidence for a sexual assault trial.
House Bill 206, introduced by state Rep. Cathrynn Brown (R), would charge a rape victim who ended her pregnancy with a third-degree felony for “tampering with evidence.”
There is a real special place in hell for state Rep Cathrynn Brown. Will they hold the “evidence” in the “evidence locker” until trial. How about chain of custody? It is obviously that Rep Brown has not watched near enough CSI: Crime Scene Investigation shows.
Thanks to Paul and Brian C for the heads up.
PLEASE tell me you just made this up…….unfortunately I KNOW you didn’t. These RWers have to WORK UP to stupid!!!!!
1There are no words . . . . Truly—I’m running out of them.
2I read a blog comment the other day where a woman complained that her vagina was more regulated than her gun.
Another commenter suggested a “Women’s Health Show” exemption like the gun show exemption, so that women could get together on weekends and do their business without prying eyes.
3Cathrynn Brown is the best argument you could present in favor of abortion..
4I think I need to go back to bed and pull up the covers. This crap is just appalling!
5What next? Automatic execution for women who seek an abortion as pre-medidated murder? I nave no words…
6I guess I should have read today’s blog before sending the link on the story in New Mexico. Good grief.
7We should be upset about this, and I am. OTOH, these crazy Regressives are turning off people every day and in every way, and as Martha says, “That’s a good thing!” A recent poll indicated that 70% of the people do not want Roe v Wade overturned, which is a large increase. Let the Regressives keep talking and introducing ridiculous bills, and we sane people keep on getting other sane people to vote.
8Thing is 70% sit on their butts and allow Regressives to control state houses like here in Texas.
9Who are the stupid ones??
True believers suck…..
10Mrs. Brown, do you have a lovely daughter? You are another very twisted woman, in a party that sports a number of pretty sick women. One thing I’m sure of – it it happened to your daughter, she would be given a morning after pill or at an abortion clinic right fast.
11Most of the bio pages I could find on Rep. Brown have her picture and state affiliation but no other information. I did finally find a news article that said she’s married and practiced “transactional law.” No mention of kids that I could find.
I did find that she doesn’t believe in global warming. I don’t know whether to believe man is causing it, but the fact that it is warming is provable. Ships are crossing the Northwest Passage, which has been impossible for a long time. The summer Arctic polar icecap is smaller than it has been since we’ve started taking pictures of it from space. It might just be a blip on a geological scale, but it’s giving us crazy weather right now.
But back to the Rep. Can we give custody of the babies to her to track for the court cases? She’s a member of the court and should be able to establish a good chain of custody. I hope she realizes that means she has to know where they are 24/7.
12Rep. Brown is a disgrace to womanhood. She needs to turn in her lady parts and resign.
13Linking abortion and the Holocaust has a long history in Virginia, Jerry Falwell was doing that in the early 1980’s (I confess, I used to watch The Old Time Gospel Hour for entertainment and to keep an eye on what they were up to in Falwell-land).
14The other day it was pointed out that “idiots” are specifically barred from voting in New Mexico. To which someone commented that they also shouldn’t be allowed to hold office in the state. Rep Cathrynn Brown sure proves that point.
15Most people like Black also support Dubya’s wars. If a pregnant woman gets in front of a U.S. bomb or automatic weapon firing she gets an extremely effective abortion. That doesn’t seem to bother the right wingers at all.
16Actually, both Virginia and Nazi Germany do their thing in the open. Nazi germany adopted Virginia’s eugenics laws, and current Virginia tries to disenfranchise unreliable citizens.
17Is staunching the bleeding and stitches also “tampering with evidence” in the case of gun shot wounds? Can bullet fragments be removed? Can cars be moved out of intersections after accidents or must they remain until the insurance companies sort it out? What a dim bulb.
18Cathrynn Brown reportedly put out a news release this morning claiming that her bill was misrepresented and that it was never her intent to prosecute (persecute?) rape victims. It was supposedly aimed at those perpetrating incest. She said that the bill will be revised/replaced. Especially interesting in this scenario is that she purportedly has a law degree and thus one may guess that she has been admitted to the New Mexico bar. If she had actual clients in this matter, she would be ripe for a malpractice suit or disbarment. Talk about one incompetent lawyer …
19Brown said that what she meant to do was prosecute the rapists who forced their victims to have an abortion to destroy evidence of rape or incest. Well, maybe, but it wasn’t well stated.
20OK, here’s the other thing–the woman is so ignorant that she doesn’t realize that the products of conception removed/expelled at abortion would provide the crucial DNA evidence SOONER than waiting for the rape victim to have the baby, after putting her through the physical, mental, emotional and occupational strain of having the baby. In other words, if you want to prove rape (including incest) you don’t need a live baby. (Sperm works too, of course, but this is assuming your rape-treatment protocol doesn’t find any.)
Instead of holding off filing charges for 9+ months and putting a rape victim through the trauma of unwanted pregnancy and childbirth, you could just, you know, run a DNA scan on the results of the abortion.
