Report from Glen:
Overheard in a Georgia polling booth.
.
Small child to his mother after she cast her ballot: “Did you vote for Radical Jon?” (evidently his hero). Right up there with Yosemite Sam, Scooby Do, and SuperMan, is Radical Jon Ossoff.
Another polling place, Worker to young white guy: “Are you here to vote?” Teen: “I’m here to ruin Mitch McConnell’s life.”
.
The last day of early voting was yesterday. Blocks long lines at the deadline (why do people procrastinate). Voting is at about 82% of where it was in the General.
.
People seem to think things are looking positive. I’m not in the know since we are only foot soldiers and reporting to regional organizers who are also not in the know. So we’re depending on the same press and online media as you guys for our info.
.
Our kids are now running some canvassing operations. Sam Gostomski and Clayton Jelinek heading up a canvas launch in an outdoor park on the edge of Savannah. Beautiful site. And Jon Ossoff stopped by and they got pics with him.

Thank you again for helping. The kids have trained other volunteers to take home the skills they are learning here.
More soon ….
Another polling place, Worker to young white guy: “Are you here to vote?” Teen: “I’m here to ruin Mitch McConnell’s life.”
This made my day.
1I’m so proud of these kids. Seeing them with that young looking Jon Ossoff I hope gives them ideas about their own political future!
2Yup. And hope they keep it up all their lives until they’re old wrinklies like me.
3These young people are our future which makes me very hopeful.
4What a great group of kids getting out the vote! I agree that teen saying “I’m here to ruin Mitch McConnell’s life” is totally awesome. What a fabulous response. I like Radical Jon also 🙂
I will be watching for the results tomorrow! Sure do pray that the good guys win this round.
5The old man rambles on: In 1968 I was a team leader on the last successful Senate campaign of J. William Fulbright. I made $1.60 an hour, but I had to provide my own car. I hope that in 52 years these kids are telling tall tales about that time they went to Georgia to work for Ossoff. The memories are worth more than the money.
6Ralph, I worked for zero on the JFK campaign and I agree with you. Ended up going to an inaugural ball, etc. My kids and grandkids are awed! And they are Democrats finally, like me, able to breathe better these days.
7Not making any “prediction” but the numbers look good with early voter turn out. When Democrats vote, we win. So the Team of college kids with Mr. Maxey encouraging the vote are to be especially appreciated. Imagine that in a democracy, encouraging the vote instead of suppressing the vote. Good to know the next time a Republicon makes the false claim of being a ‘patriot.’
Many thanks to Mr. Maxey and Team for the early exit poll field notes. ROFL with “I’m here to ruin Mitch McConnell’s life.” Voter enthusiasm along the lines of the 81 million who were done with the fu king moron; may it happen in Georgia, too.
Thanks guys and gals!
8Michael McDonald’s Election Project has a sheet devoted to Early votes in GA. His update today was
Total Early Votes: 3,041,581
Percent Turnout (of Registered Voters): 39.3%
Most interesting factoid, for me: the voters who did not turn out in November, but are part of the early vote:
9Voted in 2020 General 2,922,980 96.1%
Did Not Vote in 2020 General 118,601 3.9%
