6Slipstream: while campaigning and while Texas had power outages, T**** said that if elected, he would give every American family home a generator for free. Just yesterday I sent a snail mail letter to the White House asking when I could expect mine. It’s a step up from asking what he did on “day one” that lowered egg prices, as he also promised. I figured for the cost of a postage stamp it will be amusing to see what reply his minions come up with.
More seriously, I’ve done work with the Department of Energy and know something about the National Nuclear Security Agency. After firing over 300 of their employees, Muskrat’s kiddies are frantically trying to get them back (remember Rick Perry promising to dump the DOE, unaware that it was responsible for all the US nuclear weapons?). Unfortunately their government email accounts were terminated and of course their government phone numbers were also yanked so they are asking if anyone knows how to reach them. I’m hoping they combine and offer to return as contractors, for 12x their previous salaries.
There’s some interesting stories about the NNSA’s work. One that I remember was them scrambling to a fast food place because their monitoring for radioactive isotopes got triggered. The equivalent of a SWAT team with helicopters scrambled to the location. Turned out some cancer patient had stopped there after radiation treatment, and was caught short so he peed in a corner of the parking lot. That gives an idea of just how cautious and careful they are … and it’s unlikely Musk’s H1B cheap hires will be able to fill the role.
