Uh, Where Was the Good Guy with a Gun?
As if Aurora, Colorado, needs more practice with innocent victims, a high school student was accidentally shot by a school employee.
It seems the employee was on his way to an extra job, offered the student a ride, and then shot the student in the leg while trying to put the weapon in the glove compartment.
The employee, who is not a teacher, was moving his gun to the glove compartment when it went off and bullet hit the student’s leg.
While the student is expected to survive, the Aurora police called the leg injury “significant.” The school employee has a second job as a security offer and it’s unknown whether he will face charges.
So, Mr. LaPierre, where was the good guy with a gun?
Thanks to Carol for the heads up.
JJ, I’ve been listening to Mr LaPierre for some time now, and if I understand him correctly, it would be best if the student were armed so he could shoot back at the person who shot him. Then, if the first shooter doesn’t die, police can interrogate the school worker to determine whether he intended to shoot the student or if it was accidental. Either way the student should be able to “Sit His Ground” and protect himself.
1Rick–because protecting himself would fix the damage to his leg, right?
2So if a good guy with a gun is also a stupid guy with a gun, then they cancel each other out. Better there was nobody with a gun.
3Welcome to Colorado … the land of self-righteous gun nuts and law enforcement folks [Terry Maketa, for one] who are against the background checks!! Bunch of crazies up here, JJ. The way it’s going up here, a bunch of too-happy-trigger-fingered nutjobs are killing each other off! Cleaning out the riff-raff!!
4Wow. Ordinarily you’d have to come all the way to Texas to experience a gene pool with that shallow a shallow end!
5What is it with these morons and their LOADED guns all the time? You don’t load until you’re about to shoot! Or does this guy think he might need to throw lead while driving between jobs? I’m glad I don’t live in Colorado if that’s a legitimate concern.
6This is off-topic and I can’t come up with a good guy with a gun, but there are good guys in the world.
Well, not exactly in the world: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaOC9danxNo
7I’m Still trying to figure out where the ‘good guy with a gun’ was during all the killings.
8Bless all of the NRA members who stopped the gunman in Aurora, Oregon and Sandy Hook…oh Wait…….
