Two Things Happened Today

July 27, 2016 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

This is a day when the Democrats nominated a woman to be president and Donald Trump told another woman to “be quiet.”

Screen Shot 2016-07-27 at 3.41.27 PMDonald Trump once again targeted NBC News correspondent Katy Tur during a Wednesday news conference, telling the reporter to “be quiet.”

Tur asked Trump whether he has “any qualms about asking a foreign government … to hack into a system of anybody’s in this country” after Trump said he hoped Russia would find more emails from Hillary Clinton or the DNC.

There ya go.

Keep it up Drumpf, you’re gonna lose it all by yourownself.
Proof positive that his “good brain” is crap and going off script will bring him down. This is not the first time he has insulted Katy Tur and countless other women. She asked a fair question and he couldn’t stand it.

    1
  2. This is bad. I don’t want Hair Drumpf beaten and embarrassed until election day. Then, after that, censure and exile is just fine.

    Along with the other ultra-cons.

  3. Marcia in CO says:

Now with his talk of Russia or China “finding” those 33,000 emails, there is actual talk of treason being leveled at Trump by those that could do that!! LOL Oh, if only ….

  4. DaddyWasATexan says:

Not a picture of Katy Tur. That’s Norah O’Donnell of CBS morning news show. Katy has been following Trump for a long time as part of the MSNBC team.

Having said that, Dear Husband is wondering when someone is going to place a pistol in Pence’s shaky hand & tell him “it’s up to you.” Needn’t bother. I’m sure Rafael Eduardo would be happy to do it.

I’m a woman and I have 2 words for DT.
    “Be quiet.”

Have any of the Drumpf supporters sobered up yet? If so, I’d like to ask them a compare and contrast question. Seriously. Really. After 7+ years of President Obama and the wonderful First Family, do you really want to drag the Dumpster Fire to the White House?

And, speaking of the President and magnificent FLOTUS Obama, after her speech, the gauntlet is handed to President Obama to top that tonight. Because if he doesn’t, he’ll be hearing some trash talk from Sasha and Malia later; maybe even a few words from Bo and Sunny.

    6
  7. Now why, do you suppose, the other reporters, Tur’s colleagues, won’t rise to her defense? Walk out. Write about his behavior. Refuse to cover the bully. Call him out.
Their unwillingness to defend her speaks volumes about their objectivity, integrity and respect for their profession.
    Shame on them!

I got some duct tape we can use to fix his mouth.

  9. Donald Trump is insane. My tv would diagnose borderline personality disorder and suggest putting up a big wall.

But he could win the Presidency.

    9
  10. Tilphousia says:

About time someone told trump that the questions will only get worse and poor little tissue paper skin trump will just get madder and madder. Perhaps like the evil gnome he is, he will just jump up and down till the earth swallows him whole. Hate to pollute earth like that though. Well maybe the nasty little Nazi will generate so much hot air he just floats away.

two crows: I have 2 words for The Donald, too. Yours are nicer.

  12. I think Mr. Trump is running scared. no, not scared that he’ll lose the election, scared that he might somehow, someway, actually win it, and then what the hell will he do? he hasn’t the first clue how to be president, and anyway, this isn’t how this reality show was supposed to work out. he wasn’t supposed to actually win enough primaries to be the nominee, just enough so he could burnish his rep with “former presidential candidate”, and charge more for licensing fees and speeches.

so now, the only thing he can think of to do, to make sure he doesn’t come close to winning, is be just as big an obnoxious fool as he can. hopefully, he’ll offend enough of the population that he loses in Nov., saving him the embarrassment of quitting outright. the problem is, at least 40% of the voting population is just batshit crazy enough to vote for him, regardless of what he says or does, short of a criminal indictment and jail sentence.

be afraid, be very, very afraid!

  13. Gary St.Arnauld says:

I think cpinva has nailed it.

    13
  14. slipstream says:

Dang! First it was that “perky one” Katie Couric pestering Palin with pesky questions about what she read for sources of information. Turns out it was the National Enquirer.

And now it’s Katy Tur who won’t shut up and stay in her place, questioning Trump for cheering on Russian spies probing his enemies. So what! A little treason should be a problem?

    Dang uppity women reporters, anyway.

    14
  15. Rastybob says:

A indictment would be nice. There is enough proof of fraud to put him away for a long time, just with Trump U. alone.
So far he has been able to buy his way off. The more light we shine on him the less likely he can buy his way out in every state.

    15
  16. two crows and JAK, I think I’m paraphrasing our dear hostess when I say that I have two words for Trump and they aren’t “Happy birthday.”

    16
  17. Sigh. His base is sour white men, usually high school or drop outs thereof, who from toddler age onward have been as uncivil and unlearned (as in depth) as they could possibly be, considering that they are in constant competition with others exactly like them. Hence, the trumpeter couldn’t care less about women, even the ones who for some reason support him. Ditto for the disabled and the elderly. In trumpworld, only losers get disabled and old. That leaves men with more than a high school education who can’t stand him, also women of all levels of schooling who feel the same way, and every one else that he has offended. Since females make up 52% of the population and hopefully at least half of them are prolific voters, they along with the offended will still have to overcome the white male vote. Since a lot of that white male vote that Trump says he loves so much also consist of chronic drinkers (even before they brush their teeth, that is if they actually have dental hygiene) the plan is to get them drunk and keep them passed out drunk on election day. These are also the ones way less likely to file an absentee ballot. Normally I would say “yuck” to such a plan but hey, these are yucky times!

    17
  18. Marcia in CO says:

Fraud and now, possibly, a little treason thrown into the mix!! That Trumpster could find himself smack dab in the middle of a big kettle of fish guts!!

Oh Lord, I sure hope so!!

    18
  19. JAKvirginia says:

cpinva: I’ve heard this line of reasoning in other places. It’s wrong. Trump HAS to win. He has no choice. Let’s review…

    1. No banks in the US will lend to him. Because, well, his track record.

    2. No banks in Europe will lend to him. Because, well, see #1.

    3. He’s against Muslims. Why? Arabs are wealthy and won’t lend to him. Again, see #1.

    4. He’s against the Chinese. They won’t lend to him or allow him to build a casino in their country. Again, see #1.

    5. He’s snuggling up to Putin. Putin is worth an estimated $70+B. Trump wants to build in Moscow. Putin has connections to lots of money.

    6. As President, Trump has vowed to rewrite trade agreements. Maybe with something in there to favor his business interests?

    7. There is no law that restricts a sitting President from running his private business interests while president.

    Are the dots connecting?

Trump would use the Presidency to enrich himself. It has been and will always be about the money and prestige. He HAS to win. He’s got nothing else. That makes him dangerous.

    19
  20. I have 4 words for Scumpf:

    “Shut the F**K Up!!!”

I love your list and think you oughta make T shirts from it and sell them.

    21
  22. JAKvirginia says:

Marge: Thanks but I don’t think a Dolly Parton t-shirt would be big enough to get that on!

    22
  23. slipstream says:

Aging white guy here, hoping maggie comes over to my house and gets me drunk. But not until after I vote for Hillary.

    23
  24. treehugger says:

Sadly, it appears that Trump can say or do anything, however vile or egregious, and his base will continue to support him. And his base isn’t just bitter white blue collar men; I have female cousins in their 30’s, educated women with little kids, who support him. I don’t understand it. I can’t argue with them. You just cannot reason a person out of an opinion they did not come to by reason in the first place. I find the whole Trump phenom terrifying and have from the time he first announced and appeared to be winning people over. What is wrong with Republicans today? They privately wring their hands in consternation, but they continue to spinelessly endorse him. I despise them.

    24
  25. maryelle says:

Oh, treehugger, I am in the same situation, but I dearly love my cousins and they are kind to a fault. They are intelligent and college educated, but were raised in an ultra conservative household. They cling to this philosophy, I think, as some way to be loyal to their departed parents. It’s emotional, not rational, and challenging their political leanings would drive a terrible rift between us. They know I’m a Democrat, so that will have to be enough. I restrict my political discussions to non-relatives.

    25
  26. Lunargent says:

    maryelle-

Maybe just ask your cousins if they think their parents would have voted for Trump. For all but the most reflexive Republicans, I think the answer would be No.

I am hoping that there is a significant number of Repub’s that, quietly and with little fuss, will either vote for Hillary or stay home. They would be like Reagan Democrats. Most of whom, I think, stayed with their new party once they switched.

    26
  27. treehugger says:

maryelle, I didn’t mean to imply that I despise my cousins, although I see that the comment does read that way. They are good people and I love them. My relatives, most all of them Republicans, know where I stand. I don’t discuss politics with any of them. It was easier in the past because, even though GWB was plenty bad, he wasn’t anywhere near the level of vileness of Trump. Trump has pulled me over the edge.
