I guess someone reminded him about what happened to the stock market after he shut down the government in 2018!

Big Whup. Trillions for banks and businesses and chicken feed for the ones who need it.

  3. I am splitting this $600 between Ossoff, Warnock and Fair Fight. I’m sending it now before the money gets to me so they have it time to use it for the Georgia election.

This is the most satisfaction I have ever gotten from anything Trump has done. Actually, it’s probably the only satisfaction other than watching him lose the election.

  4. Trump did say he’d work tirelessly over the holidays. Look how much extra time he put into signing the relief bill!

He signed it, but he seems to think that the line-item veto is a thing. He’s sending along a “red-lined” copy of the bill to Congress, pointing out all the things he wants changed. He’s really going to be annoyed when he finds out that what he signed is what he gets.

News bulletin said he signed it contingent on congress increasing the payout to $2000 from the $600 in the bill he signed. Not sure how that works. Will be interesting to see what the house does tomorrow and what Mitch does. Frankly, I think Trumpf is trying to buy some legacy. He doesn’t give a shit about the people that really need it.
No news on the defense bill he vetoed.

Given that McConnell has been Trump’s toady all along, it would be smart for him to continue and change the $600 to $2000 as Trump wants. Might (shouldn’t, but might) give the mean old F- (no, it rhymes with tart, not duck) a little leverage with incoming D- Senators if the two in Georgia win and he needs it. (Dem Senators…the guy’s a mean, sneaky, sonuva rabid weasel…whatever he wants you to do, he’s not five stings in it).

His delay caused millions of American families to lose unemployment benefits for a week. He made the holidays worse for millions of Americans while also causing deep anxiety and uncertainty for those who struggle to make ends meet. Words cannot express how angry his unnecessary delay makes me and I feel so awful for those impacted.
I truly believe he enjoys inflicting pain and being cruel.

    Well, of course he did.

  11. Honestly, I am surprised.

Maybe someone did point out the stock market.

I really agreed with a pundit who pointed out that the best way for him to do a “neener neener” to all he feels betrayed him or are against him, including any Republican that said Biden is President-Elect, was the pocket veto to finalize the day after this Congress is shut down and could not act on it.

I’m glad he signed it–not that it is any great relief. But really, the true blame goes to Mitch and his cronies who would not act on this bill until the last possible moment. Our government and how these supposed politicians posture is such an embarrassment.
