Too Damn Bad Her Dad Didn’t Know When to Get Out
If you’re just getting up, please allow me to be the first to deliver some fabulous news.
Liz Cheney is ending her campaign for Senate in Wyoming, the Republican announced in a statement early Monday morning.
Citing health concerns in her family, Cheney said the issues arising prompted her to end her GOP primary challenge to Sen. Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.).
Yes, health concerns, you know, because her Dad has been the picture of health for the past two decades.
It’s more like the health of poll results.
Republicans — including some Cheney supporters — privately expressed surprise at Cheney’s move, though she is also said to have been discouraged by Enzi’s persistent polling lead and apparent determination to buck pressure to retire.
Ya think?
She should win some sort of award for the damn mess she left behind her. What a spoiled brat.
Thanks to everybody for the heads up.
Yes, she’s a spoiled brat from that toxic family, but it think it’s too bad she won’t be around to gum up the works in the Republican primary. Think of the entertainment value, the erosion of ‘family values’ hypocrites’ credibility? I understand Enzi is a pretty lackluster candidate. Is there a good Dem challenger?
1I was hoping she’s split the vote, allowing a Dem to sneak in. More’s the pity.
2Should have been “she’d” split the vote.
3Mea culpa.
Hum, “health concerns in her family”…. Were they sick because voters discovered they were registered to vote in 2 states simultaneously? I mean it isn’t like we are talking 2 countries or anything! Sorry Teddy!
A pattern seems to be emerging here, can you even be a Republican Candidate if you are not registered in more than one place?
4Smack down for the evil family and its least qualified daughter. What’s in a name? Well, when it is synonymous for evil, name recognition should not be your pass card to enthronement. How wonderful it will be, if there is not a seat for this latest failure over at Republican HQ Failure News.
5She will be moving back to Virginia in 3 . . . 2 . . .
6Not at all sorry to see this little thumb-sucker go! Now what will daddy do to dry her crocodile tears? A seat on a board that he still controls? Them board seats do bring in a wad of dough, ya know.
7Yes, I agree: her dad should have pulled out sooner, too.
8Insanity is a health concern.
9Well, well, well. Little Lizzie Carpetbagger quitting because she doesn’t have the votes. As someone on another thread said, Daddy’s coattails are looking mighty thin these days. Can we spell schadenfreude? Why yes, yes we can.
daChipster, I saw what you did there. 😉 I do so agree. 🙂
10Given the current state of the GOP I am never happy when one Repub stops mauling another. The good news is that Liz will return. Maybe she could run for President–she’d be a grand addition to the Repub primary.
11LOL daChipster!!
12They say around the Great Lakes the temperature is colder than Liz Cheney’s heart.
13They’re citing health concerns with her children, not her dad, so maybe that is a valid reason. Be that as it may, I was looking forward to her getting a thorough trouncing. Ah, well…there’s always Steve Stockman.
14Dick Cheney leaves his mess in Iraq for Obama. Liz Cheney doesn’t even sweep her mess in Wyoming back into the carpetbag.
I’d like to see an itemized history of any security deposits they had on house and apartment rentals. That’s got to be a pretty penny!
15I still think her daddy oughta be in jail.
16I agree with VeeGee in VT and others who opined how too bad it was she pulled out… err bailed. Seeing her split up the ghomert vote would have been worth the price of admission. In either State.
@daChipster: Nice! 🙂
17“As a mother and a patriot, I know that the work of defending freedom and protecting liberty must continue for each generation. Though this campaign stops today, my commitment to keep fighting with you and your families for the fundamental values that have made this nation and Wyoming great will never stop.”
Perhaps she should have said..”As a mother who loves apple pie and a patriot who gets a tear in my eye every time I see Old Glory waiving in the wind, I know……… .” Now that would have been a real statement!!
18Chipster, very good.
Mary seems to be the only Cheney with any sense. For that, she has my abiding respect.
19@Da Chipster – When are you talking about – the 2000 and 2004 campaigns or nine months before Liz was born?
20Uhhh … UmptyDump … he meant the latter … 9 months prior to Lizzy being pushed out of the ole mama chute!!
DaChip … I smirked as soon as I read that comment … in fact, I read it and did a little backtrack and read it again … LOL
21The latest rumor is that one of her children has diabetes http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/report-cheney-daughter-diagnosed-with-diabetes
22Liz Cheney is too damn ornery to have been birthed by a human mom. Hatched out attached to a government teat and has sucked ever since.
23I hate her with the passion generally reserved for her father and the RW idiots in my daily paper. I don’t even care if her kid has diabetes– so do lots of other people’s children, and no way would she care about that. She’s a nasty piece of work and Wyoming probably deserves it, but it has dodged a bullet, and probably a legal, concealed bullet at that. I flew over Wyoming once– my god. There is nothing there that is habitable…pretty impressive…I don’t think little Lizzie will be habiting there much longer.
24I almost choked on my Diet Coke — and when THAT goes up your nose, it ain’t pretty. You guys crack me up!!!
25Jeff A, all that and if she cried at basketball games.
26daChipster, her dad’s father should have pulled out sooner.
I’m old enough to remember the anti-war sticker, “Pull out, Nixon, like your father should have.”
27I’m behind on my reading! Thanks y’all, for making this BS bearable! 😉 on so many levels!!
28With Cheney’s M.O. he may have outsourced domestic reproduction to an off-shore,foreign subsidiary to avoid domestic taxes and avoid laws that preclude domestic korporations from treating with our known enemies. Afterall,Haliburton was working Iraq’s oil fields, through KBR,while Amerikan korporations were forbidden by law to aid Iraq.
