Thugs

Fenway Fran sent us a weird story from Washington State.

A GOP candidate for state senate was trying to raise money for a canvassing team.  It’s a close race.  If Democrats flip two seats, they win control of of the Washington state senate.

At the King County Republican Party Liberty Dinner and Auction (tickets were $125 each), Republican Andy Hill made some odd comments about his opponent’s canvassing team.  Hill claims that Democrats told him that they will not open the door for his opponent’s canvassing team because “they look like thugs.”

Here’s the Democratic team:

Here’s Andy’s team:

His canvassers look like a cheating scandal at an ivy league school.  The Stepford kids? And, of course, the future CEOs outnumber the 87% salary earners with hooters.

Be social and share!

  1. Republican’s view all the real people as lesser than, lower than, not equal to. That says more about them than about the real, hardworking, less than perfect progressives trying to get back the power to make life better for the rest of us “thugs”.

  2. So there is photographic evidence that Repubs in Washington State look like Repubs elsewhere, as do Dems. There’s comfort in that, from a “knowing your enemy” standpoint.

Of course everybody wearing the same T-shirt reminds me of a wedding party, but that’s just me.

Thug is the word old white people use now because they realized they can’t say N*****.

I came to this a couple years back when people called Kanye West a thug and I was like “WTH are you talking about about??” English professor mom, photojounalist for the AJC dad, educated for some time in China while his mom was a visiting professor, college scholarship for visual arts.

But he’s black, and he raps, and he was mean to that sweet white girl, Taylor Swift.

    That means he’s rude and a boor, y’all. He’s. not. a. thug.

Unless by that you mean n*****, which of course you do.

  4. According to Wingnuttia, anyone not a white Republican is either a thug or a slut.

  5. ‘Course, everything a Rethug sez you can take the bank, right? The Dem volunteers look like my neighbors and believe me I have some of the best neighbors ever! The GOP volunteers look like they can afford to pay for those t-shirts and never worry about where their next meal is coming from. 87%. Right on the nose. And this Rethug candidate just had his 47% Mitt Romney moment. Let him live with that the rest of his life.

  6. One of these groups has a lot of $$$ or is more interested in providing a “corporate” environment than the other… notice the background and foreground.

The Dem team looks like actual America. The Republican group looks straight out of Stepford…

  8. The Dem volunteers remind me of that one magazine cover of the Democratic National Convention that got Obama re-elected. It went viral cuz it was so diverse and alive!!!

I only open my door for people with Democratic literature in their hands. Fortunately, my area is so heavily D that the Rs stay out!

  10. I’m sure there are a couple of Republicans somewhere in my neighborhood. I don’t know any of them, or where they live, whoever they are. There’s a libertarian down the street, who voted for Obama, but is very upset about all the war in which the US is involved. There are quite a few Greens in my ‘hood; although a registered Democrat, I count myself among them (I’m voting for Howie Hawkins for Governor, to help deny Cuomo a landslide, and to keep the Green Party on the ballot). There are even some socialists. I’ve received plenty of Dem mailers (too many, in fact); none from Republicans. If this were the upper, rather than the lower, east side, I’m sure things would be different. Now, if only we could motivate the young to vote! Any ideas?

Zyxomma, keep on keeping on with everything you do and others like Mrs. B. do to register the vote and provide information.

Biggest problems are the candidates and their speakers, including President Obama. Saying vote, vote, vote won’t get the job done. For all the millennials enjoying the benefit of staying on their parents’ health insurance while finishing school that should be repeated, when speaking to a young crowd. And, like Senator Warren and candidate Grimes, remind us who wants to lower the interest on student loans. Also, instead of the good guy/bad guy glossing, spell out the real differences. Educate us on the accomplishments of the Democratic Party and President Obama. Send out Howard Dean and Bernie Sanders to talk to young minority potential voters; let them hammer hard on family planning issues, income disparity and the environment. Would loved to have seen President Obama and AG Holder out there talking about the GOP attempts to disenfranchise youth. Senators Hagen and Landrieu missed that opportunity in their states.

We don’t hate old people or white people or even old white people; but old white lying racists patronizing us like Baby Paul did can be used to demolish the GOP and their racist Tea Party.

Bring us the truth and facts, we’ll be good.
