Y’all, Thelma came back from lunch today and cheerfully told us that Trump had banned bump stocks.
“However,” she cautioned, “I wouldn’t get too excited. I think he believes that bump stocks are what’s causing the stock market to crash”.

IMO, Bump stocks CLEARLY violate the letter and, more importantly, the spirit, of NFA 1934. The advisory letter the first bump stock manufacturer received from ATF that legitimized bump stocks was WRONG. A total misinterpretation of NFA 1934 by ATF because the intent of NFA 1934 again IMO was to make firearms capable of firing in any way more than one round with one operation of whatever action the firearm had, ILLEGAL.

2The talking heads I’m hearing this morning are all about who benefits from the weaselheaded f**knuggett’s Syria pullout.
Russia, Iran, and Turkey.
I get it.
But I haven’t heard anyone talking about the significance of it coming one day after Michael Flynn asked for and received a delay in sentencing in order to give him more time to cooperate with Mueller’s team.
He’s pleaded guilty to working as a foreign agent for the Turkish government. And just days after the Golgothan spoke with Erdogan.
Turks and Kurds are enemies from way back. We’re leaving our allies, the Kurds, at the mercy of two enemies. The last pockets of ISIS, and their ancient enemies the Turks.
Just seems like the timing is a little convenient.
I’ve suspected that Vlad Putin has been leaning on RAT45 for a couple of months now.
The Russians, who are OPEC’s largest oil producers, have increased their oil pumping lately, distorting the oil market.
This has been a major factor in the recent steady fall of the price* of a barrel of crude oil, from ~$76 at the beginning of October, to ~$46 this week (a 40% drop).
What better way to ‘convince’ Comrade Bonespurs that he needs to come to heel behind his master than to squeeze the hell out of the Rethug’s best buddies the oil industry?
This might also factor into the recent bear stock market slump, although I think that the ‘stock market’ has just begun to awaken to how bad an economic disaster the Trump regime is longterm, for everybody.
Remember that the Russians have a major position in the Syrian conflict, with a large military presence there.

I am delicately asking all the gun experts here to let me know if the ban is retroactive for all bump stocks now in private hands. I am all for the banning of the darn things that now sit in inventory somewhere but I am alarmed about all those already installed.
PS It was obvious from the talking head programs on TV this AM that pulling the troops out of Syria before Christmas was a so very obvious deflection re: Flynn and the sudden exposure of a letter of intent to build in Russia signed by His Ignobility himself.

Of course my joy was short lived. This maladministration is for sale to the highest bidder. If someone comes along and offer$ more, bump stocks may become available again.
That said, IMO, they were, are, and always will be, illegal under the present wording of NFA 1934.
5I’m pretty ignorant when it comes to guns, but it seems to me that nobody has ever been killed with a bump stock alone. Except for the maniac in Las Vegas, have these things figured in any other massacres?
