The Texas Yachtsman Introduces a Bill
West Texas Republican Congressman Randy Neugebauer, who lives in the desert and bought a damn yacht with his campaign contributions, has up and decided to screw the poor because, you know, freedom.
A new bill from Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-TX), chair of the House Financial Services Committee’s Housing and Insurance Subcommittee, would raise rents on some of the nation’s poorest families. The bill apparently intends the rent increases to balance the possible cost of allowing the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to lower rents for families with somewhat higher incomes. The rent increases could cause hardship — and even homelessness — for vulnerable families.
Dandy Randy is very interested in helping people with money because poor people don’t see the value in giving him money to buy … oh, say, a freekin’ yacht!
Thanks to Don A. for the heads up.
Raise rents for poor families to balance rent decreases for families who are less poor? Does not compute! Does not compute!
Sweet Jesus, open their eyes to what they are doing to their fellow citizens.
1Mr Yachtsman, why do you hate the poor? Your proposed legislation would force families with children to take from their meager resources for food to pay their rent.
Please, try it for a week. Live in a meager apartment with the barest of necessities and try feeding yourself for less than $2 a day.
2Following up on what the PKMarx brother said about food, here some information on food insecurity.

3I think we need to burn the yacht…there’s no water in Texas for it to float on, no oil available without fracking (or so they want you to believe) for heating, the roads are turning to gravel so you can’t pull a yacht trailer and it will be lovely, merrily burning away in the fireplace in his air conditioned home, helping heat the place this winter. His carbon footprint can’t get much bigger and I’m not sure his Ducky Jammie’s will keep his FAT A** warm enough this winter. Burn the thing!
4Do we still have a presidential yacht? If the prez dosen’t have one, this yahoo doesn’t need one either!
Everyone needs a hobby. I’d actually prefer he learn to sail this one real well, then challenge Larry Ellison for the right to defend America’s Cup. Of course a Cup challenge takes a full time commitment so resigning as a Hill-billy would be necessary. At least that’s how I see some good coming from all this. Plus he aint got a snowball’s chance in hell of beating Larry.
5I suspect the intent is to increase the number of homeless people, and then require anyone trying to register to vote to show proof of residency…
6Dear God, they can’t help themselves can they. From bad to worse to horrendous, the Repugs represent a vision of hell on earth. If only someone could catch him aboard some night and lash him to the steering wheel, then set that boat on course for
7Mexico. They’d know what to do with the evil gringo.
If you ever wanted to know what the face of true EVIL looked like, gaze upon that photo of Randy Neugebauer. This is the very essence of smug self-righteous evil.

Randy N. has a stinkboat/powerboat (~55 foot Sunseeker pimpbarge, IIRC), not a sailboat.
The America’s Cup has always been sail only, although recently on catamarans instead of the traditional monohulls of the past.
The last Cup in 2013 sailed the AC72 class (specially designed and built for the AC), awesome boats capable of 40kt/50mph+ speeds in 20mph winds.
The next AC in 2017 will also be on catamarans, but they will be AC62’s. The defender nation and club gets to specify the boats used, venue and rules (some of the rules define the boat design parameters). The venue selection is down to San Diego or Bermuda (Chicago was eliminated), both of which suck, ItOoM. Larry Ellison (Chicago native, kid who made good) can be a real prick sometimes (although anyone anti-Microsoft can’t be all bad), but I think he actually has some liberal leanings.

Since Candy Randy won’t read the massive article in the past Sunday’s Washington Post on how the GOP betrayed the principles espoused by Abraham Lincoln and even Teddy Roosevelt, then someone should duct tape him into his Captain’s chair, including his mouth, and read it aloud to him. I know for a fact it will burn his ears as the truth does for a lot of people. Seriously. This was the best thing i have read in the Post in about six years!

Why do ALL these ‘Murikkkan Taliban look just like the Rev. John Hagee from San Antonio?
Their cretin followers must all share some weird defective mutated sef-destructive gene.

Yeesh: “a freekin’ yacht!”
11And c’mon gals and guys, some of jes’ luvs our yachts…and I earned it, dammit. A lot of us worked hard to have a boat, it’s in our blood to be on the water. I don’t hear stuff like that against idjit RV’ers or motorcylists, or even the asshole ATV’ers.
Keeping their boots to the throats of the poor is the modus operandi of Republican hard core conservative West Texas congressmen like Randy Neugebauer.
12@Sandridge: for some reason when I read “yacht” a few of my brain cells took off on their own, commanding my hands to type what you read. Actually I knew better.
Yeah I like Ellison a lot, Gates/Micro$oft not so much. I agree Ellison seems to lean a bit left of center. Of course what I like most about him is how he could play himself as a megla-maniacal villain in the next James Bond movie and pull it off like no Hollywood actor could. Shades of Act Naturally.
13Micr, I think what we’ve got here is Fifty Shades of Act Naturally.
14Link woulda been nice.
