I did it again. I opened up Twitter/X again and the algorithm did it to me again. I usually just check in once or twice a day to see if I get any mentions. I still get an occasional baseball question from fantasy players and occasionally someone may respond to something I’ve said. Most of the time it is a desperate woman needing attention or something like today’s nonsense.
Innocently enough I see the little display that says I have a new mention. Hey, maybe someone said something interesting. I should have known better. This was a random conservative “journalist” that has a bombshell for us. Are you ready for this? Apparently John Kerry has been giving away Israeli defense secrets to the Iranians. He is just giving them away.
As you might imagine, there is apparently an audio recording. This journalist didn’t have it. She said the Senate “must have it” which means we aren’t even sure if they do. Plus, since no one has heard the recording that I know of, no one could verify its authenticity. So, maybe there is a recording of someone that might sound like John Kerry doing something. Sounds solid to me.
This is my favorite part. A responsible X user asked the very basic question everyone should be asking: where did you get this from? She attached a video of Maria Bartiromo reporting on Fox Business. Fox Business is where people go when regular Fox isn’t batshit crazy enough for them. Before we move on, can we spare a moment for Maria? She was somewhat of a responsible journalist at some point in her career. What does it look like when someone’s soul has been crushed when they sell it off for their thirty pieces of silver?
I have to wonder how many of those folks on conservative outlets really believe that they are on the side of the angels. Have they deluded themselves or are they cravenly just offering their services to the highest bidder? Let’s look at what this story is all about and why it exists. John Kerry used to be the Secretary of State. He was on Obama’s team when they negotiated a deal with Iran. Many conservatives feel that the deal was weak, so they put two and two together and got 27. He likes the Iranians. He had access to the information. Surely, he shared it with them.
I suppose their is a non-zero chance that its true. He could have information that would benefit them. He had spoken to them when helping to negotiate the deal towards the end of Obama’s presidency. So, the opportunity is there. Yet, John Kerry married into the Heinz family. Maybe he is just a raging Anti-Semite and we didn’t know. Maybe a lot of things.
There is a distinct pattern here and I’m clearly not the first person to see it. Every time a negative news story comes down about Trump and his many cases then we see someone run with one of these stories about Joe Biden or a prominent Democrat. He got the proverbial double whammy this week. Three of his attorneys flipped on him in Georgia and it came out that Mark Meadows has been singing to Jack Smith. Republicans have been in full on panic mode.
Just stay tuned. That evidence is coming we promise. There is a whistleblower in hiding. No one can seem to verify he exists or that anything he says is above board, but you can trust us. We’ve never lied to you before. Yup, that’s the ticket.
The MAGAts believe things that even in my wildest psychedelic drugs I wouldn’t have believed. And I first did LSD when it was still legal.
1By itself, this might seem to be problematical. However, the “Answered Prayers” truism is in effect. The overturning of Roe v. Wade is turning out to be the Rethugs worst nightmare and we womenfolk are well and truly pissed off. That’s gonna be the issue AGAIN in the next election and every election to come until there is a federal law guaranteeing the right to choice.
Until that time, the rest of this is just noise. How many MAGA morons even know who John Kerry is? Or can find Iran on a map?

3Any story that might have a Bartiromo fingerprint on it is hogwash. I think there’s a brain parasite that infects her and a lot of other magats and conservative media mouth pieces. Even if she wasn’t part of the origin she’ll be there to stir the pot. This seems like another hearing in the gop house of vengeance with James Comer claiming he has the proof and their new leader pushing it. They’ll subpoena Obama for sure.

5I fell down that rabbit hole last night here in Hawaii. I too thought the person asking for a source was a voice of reason in the thread’s wilderness. When the person posting replied “that is the source” (the Fox Bartiromo video), I should have realized I was in for a ride in the subsequent comments.
The RWNJ Media Wurlitzer always has a large number of diversionary ‘news flash’ items pinned on the board. Ready to spin out on a moments’ notice, anytime that some genuine bad news breaks about DJT, the GQP, MAGAots, or their various pet fancies.

In Maria Bartiromo’s case, she was once a regular on PBS’ Louis Rukyser’s ‘Wall Street Week’, and the McNeil Lehrer NewsHour. Back then she was a fairly straight reporter on current events. Today, just another RWWJ.

I read her response and may have made it a half dozen tweets? Exs? Regurgitations? down before tapping out. It was all too much. When I read your bio and you talk about how you are a serious journalist but then use another outlet as a “source” I can’t take you seriously.
It brings up an episode of “The Newsroom” where they (the fictional network) were covering the Gabby Giffords shooting story and suddenly other networks were reporting that she was dead. The head of the entire network demanded they go on the air and announce it because three other networks did it. One of the show producers calmly said, “Doctors determine whether someone is dead or alive, not the news.”
I suppose anyone can Jenna Ellis this thing and say that they trusted that someone else would get it right. Even ignoring Fox Business’ track record, I couldn’t imagine accepting something so serious from someone at work without independent verification. But they were older and more experienced? Please.
Obviously, the questions about Bartiromo are rhetorical in nature. We know exactly what happened to her and her ethics. It is just a question of when that exact moment was and what she specifically she told herself to make it okay. I’d like a bigger house in a nicer neighborhood. Maybe a vacation home would be nice in say Alaska, Hawaii, or Cabo. Maybe we could rent out a part of the princess’ castle in the Magic Kingdom. I just don’t think I can sell my integrity and dignity. Maybe there is a price high enough for some folks.

The law guaranteeing women access to abortions as well as all other health, will need to ratified to be permanent law.
If I recall correctly, the Equal Rights Amendment was never ratified into law.
