THE Quilt: Charlotte, 2012
My friend Vickie Vogel of Fayette County, Texas, spent much of her time chasing political celebrities at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. She had them sign quilt blocks.
Vickie came home and pieced the signatures blocks into a quilt.
And it can be yours.

“Charlotte 2012″ boasts the signatures of 25 famous Democrats from elected officials to political and community activists. All signatures were gathered in Charlotte, North Carolina at the 2012 Democratic National Convention. The quilt is 100% cotton, machine pieced and quilted. It measures 45″ x 45″ and has a 4” hanging sleeve sewn to the back. Just slip a dowel or even a curtain rod through the sleeve, and it’s ready for display on your wall. The label on the back identifies all signatures.

“Charlotte 2012” was designed (from a traditional block), pieced and quilted by Vickie Vogel, a member of the Texas Delegation, who serves on the State Democratic Executive Committee of Texas.
It is more a work of art than a quilt and will be a valuable treasure for generations.

There aren’t many times I wish I wasn’t retired but this is one of them. That quilt is a beauty. No matter how high the bidding goes it’ll still be a bargain.
1What a wonderful quilt. I, too, wish I weren’t retired with reduced disposable income. That would be something to treasure and I hope it ends up in good hands. Vickie did a great job.
2Vickie deserves a gold medal for Best Citizen Participation!
3Vickie Vogel–what a great Texas asset–as are you, dear Juanita-Jean.
