The Other Reality
I have often felt that reality is only a collective hunch.
Republicans are not in the hunch.
The Economist / You Gov polls show that …
Most American adults disbelieve the claim that the former President was born in Kenya, but nearly one in three American adults say that it is definitely or probably true that he was. More Republicans – 51% – believe that to be the case.
And, most Republicans also “doubt that Russia hacked into DNC emails or spread fake news during last year’s campaign in order to help elect Donald Trump president.”
And the icing on the cake —
Even when it comes to Michael Flynn, who has pled guilty to lying to the FBI, Republicans aren’t sure he actually did anything improper: 19% of Republicans think he did, but twice as many (39%) say he did not.
He confessed, you damn fools!
This is creepy, y’all.
Just watched Frank Luntz’s focus group on Roy Moore. Basic group think was it was not true – and even if it was – it’s OK. Even ole Frank was horrified.
1The Special Snowflake Reality Games have begun. They were fourth down with 99 yards to goal. Then they snapped as spoken by the goober who said: “I can no longer consider myself an evangelical Republican. I’m now a Christian Republican.” That’s rebranding by any other name, not forward progress. Poor little pigskin may smother as the many layers of lipstick are applied.
2It’s frightening! These misfit parents are bringing a generation of like-minded children into the world.
3Cheryl, excuse me, they think it’s okay that he stripped a 14 year old girl to her underwear and put her hand on the front of his underwear? They think it’s okay that he offered a 16 year old girl a ride home, then locked the truck doors, grabbed her neck and tried to force her face into his lap? Who the hell are these people?
4Ignorance can be cured, but stupidity is forever.
5What on earth do snacilbupeR smoke or snort when they get together? I knew stoners in the late 60’s early 70’s with greater functional intelligence.
6Rhea,
“Forty years ago in Alabama, there’s a lotta mamas and daddies that would be thrilled that their 14 year-old was getting hit on by a district attorney,” one voter said. “There was still clothes on,” another voter said of the first allegations against Moore. “As soon as the girl said she wasn’t comfortable, he took her home.”
As far as I am concerned, they are less than maggots.

7That disbelieving cohort of R’s are too stupid to know they are stupid! Seriously, I hope that none of them are in charge of anything more important or even fatal than a pop corn machine! I saw that same video and even the focus group leader couldn’t believe what he heard. (Well, hey – talk about inbreeding!)
8Cheryl, I am as glad as hell that none of the people were my parents. I’m sorry if any of them ARE parents. I’m sorry if any of them are breathing. There are are over 7 billion people on this little planet, more every second, and I’ve got a little list of some we could do without. I’ve just added a new category.
9Frank Luntz is too modest. He’s been cultivating exactly this mindset for decades. It’s just that he knows it’s all a con. But a lot of the people he subjected to it aren’t as educated or media savvy; so they believed that his cheap carnie tricks really were magic.
The only downside, it turns out, is that once those beliefs are implanted, they’re remarkably hard to dislodge. Instead of the compliant, tractable sheep they were aiming for, the GOP spinmeisters have created a herd of wild mules. Stubborn, dumb, and nearly impossible to lead.
10It’s embarrassing to live in a country, let alone a world, with people like these apparent cult members. What a waste of a “superior” brain, these people are pond scum.
