The Mother of All Irony

May 11, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Bristol Palin, bless her heart, now writes a column for some wacky rightwing website.

She was shocked, shocked, I tell you that President Obama was for non-traditional marriages because, well, duh, traditional marriage has worked out so well for her.

Read this slowly because I feel sure that she had to write it slowly —

… we know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home.  Ideally, fathers help shape their kids’ worldview.

So, Bristol, Honey, your child …..

Sometimes dads should lead their family in the right ways of thinking.

Bristol, Honey, your child …..

In the article, she makes fun of the President for listening to his “teenage” daughters on this subject.

I guess we can be glad that Malia and Sasha aren’t younger, or perhaps today’s press conference might have been about appointing Dora the Explorer as Attorney General because of her success in stopping Swiper the Fox.

Bristo Palin is a mature and world wise 21 year old.

Thanks to Ralph for the heads-up.

Be social and share!

This young “lady” was born without the irony gene. Definitely passed down from her momma…

  2. That was pretty pathetic, actually. Bristol is an idiot…or whomever it was that wrote that under her name.

    2
  3. So, Bristol, is that why you do everything you can to keep your own child away from his father-he doesn’t think right?

Actually Bristol doesn’t even write this stuff. It’s her ghostwriter, Nancy French, and Bristol probably doesn’t even read it before it’s posted. Bristol is just another tool in Sarah’s arsenal to spread her hatred of President Obama. Sore loser.

  4. Getting marriage advice from Bristol Palin? Wouldn’t that be kind of like getting an American History lesson from her Mom? Oh, wait…

JJ, I think your native Christian kindness and willigness to believe the best in people (as can be found in them: sometimes it’s buried deep and ain’t that “best” when exhumed) has led you to maintain the conceit that Bristol actually, you know, writes in complete sentences using correct and idiomatic English.

As ghosts go, Bristol’s writing is so haunted it’s in danger of causing “the biggest interdimensional crossrip since the Tunguska Blast of 1909.”

No honorary graduate of Mossebugger High could write this sanctimonious claptrap.

  6. Lorraine in Spring says:

This, coming from a woman who, between her and her idiot boyfriend, couldn’t figure out how to use a condom? Bristol needs to stick to her day job. Whatever that may be.

    6
  7. The really scary part is that this woman is raising an actual, human child.

    7
  8. Well, like her mama, she is big on sweeping historical statements, like “that’s not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage.”

Thousands – so at least back to Jesus’ time, right? Hmm since then, interfaith marriages and interrational marriages have all shifted from illegal to legal. Polygamous marriages went from legal to illegal (in US). And the Catholic Church has shifted from allowing same-gender marriages (they have a 13th Century liturgic ceremony for this) to lambasting anything to do with gay lifestyle.

Really, what does she this is that thousands of years of thinking about marriage.

Oh hold it, I forgot, she does numbers like Orcs (mythical very stupid pack-living bipeds – Sauron’s forces good example). There was a joke, leader sent off Orc scout and when he returned, “how many are there?” “Thousands.” After the second or third time of hearing every force was thousands, the leader (who had at least 2 brain cells) asked the scout to count their force. “One, two, many, thousands.”

  9. Kellybee…

There should be a *like* button.

    Can’t add a thing.

Bristol and Sarah Palin…. on “marriage”????

    Nevermind.

As ghosts go, Bristol’s writing is so haunted it’s in danger of causing “the biggest interdimensional crossrip since the Tunguska Blast of 1909.”

Oh, daChipster, you had me at Tunguska Blast of 1909. Marry me?

    10
  11. I am sure the same idiots that are so against the concept of gay marriage would have been the same one’s screaming about changing the laws against blacks marrying whites.

And I would bet my last $100.00 that Bristol Palin did not write any of that.

  12. Elise Von Holten says:

My Palinography is a little weak–a 21 year old ditz who has never married–knows jack-doodle about anything is holding court with a ghostwritten tripe filled (Hmong) “poop soup” food for the masses of GOP nutcases…
I am hurting too much today (Rheumatoid Arthritis) to give a hoot

    12
  13. Star – LOVE IT! And I’ve read about the same gender religious ceremonies in the middle ages, though they were limited to the male gender. Women were not so blessed since they were “property,” as they are still considered in so much of the world.

Gidget – I think there’s a line for that marriage request. 🙂 I do love how that one thinks!

    13
  14. Having not a singe nice thing to say about Brstol, I’ll say nothin at all (which says a mouth full).

    14
  15. Corinne Sabo says:

Is this the same Bristol Palin who thinks abstinence is a good idea but didn’t practice it?

    15
  16. geographylady says:

Got to make a correction to the post – Patheos isn’t a ‘wacky right-wing website.’ They have a wide variety of commentary, including Fred Clark’s Slackivist, a very well-known and widely quoted Progressive Christian blog.

    16
  17. aggieland liz says:

Hey Corrinne, Bristol didn’t think abstinence was a good idea till AFTER she found out about the baby…

    17
  18. And how did that having a mom and dad work out for YOUR moral living, Bristol? Kept you from getting pregnant out of wedlock, did it? Your child just sort of dropped in from outer space or something?

You know, I could feel sorry for Bristol, having a family that a) named her Bristol and b) gave her only Sarah for a role model and c) didn’t teach her the facts of life (see b)) but I wish the girl would…er….shut up.

  19. Mz Patti says:

I keep having that image of Bristol in her gorilla suit, on Dancing with the Stars last year, come to mind. The ghost writer does her thing, then it is proofed, edited, and approved by Sarah, before it is posted. Then they pass this drivel off as Bristol’s Brilliance. Right. Too many multi-syllabic words in the blog entry for it to have been written by Bristol. Guess the ghost writer is wearing the gorilla suit now, while also responding to the comments anonymously. Ah, the Palin Magic Machine.

A couple of years ago I had a woman-friend of a cousin of mine comment over lunch that she would never watch David Letterman again, after what he said about Bristol Palin. I could hardly contain my laughter, and my sharp, sarcastic tongue. I think I said something about my not being able to give up Stupid Pet Tricks….

They have an audience. Not a very bright, evolved audience, but an audience nonetheless…. and Sarah has learned all about cashflow, which is a dangerous tool.

    What a bunch of Bible-Thumping Hypocrits….. YUK.

    19
  20. The ghost writer for Bristol’s blog has pwned her and Bristol is letting her. Sad, really. Considering how naive I was at 21, I can feel some faint sense of empathy for someone writing, for the world to mull over, how clueless Bristol really is, under Bristol’s own name.
