The Importance of Masks
A Republican state lawmaker in Arizona proved why they just don’t get it.
Trying desperately to make the point that mask are not needed, Joseph Chaplik said on the floor of the legislature —
“The HIV that was going to [lead to] the global destruction of human bodies with AIDS, we heard about that in the ’80s,” he said. “Yet no masks were required.”

I guess I’m wondering where he thinks we want him to wear a mask.
Clueless. Just clueless.
Thanks to Carl for the heads up.
oh ffs….I mean, there’s stupid and then there’s stupid, but that’s just….words fail.
1We call that “shit for brains” where I come from. Obviously this will help him get re-elected in Arizona.
2“Raincoats”, to use a Momma-friendly term, were worn to help stop the spread of AIDS.
Given that Mr Chaplik gets taller if he takes Viagra(r), perhaps he fails to understand the difference between his big head and the one controlling his actions…
3ROFL So much for the QOP’s anatomy in which they probably should wear a condom wear a mask would normally go. When blood borne and airborne transmission are not understood by the speaker, it’s time for that speaker to be hauled off for dispensing medical advice while stupid.
4Gotta wonder what his sex life is like.
5Even money says he can be outwitted by a potted plant.
6Let’s explain this in simple terms, Rep. Chaplik: You don’t catch AIDS because someone breathes, coughs, or sneezes on you. That’s how you catch COVID-19. Wear a mask if you’re going to be around people who breathe.

8We call it that down here in Tejas too.

Keeping in mind Steve’s observation, your height given is probably a compliment to Joe.
BillR @ 5:
No I don’t. And you can’t make me.
I’ll repeat: in New Mexico, I live near three foreign countries ; Mexico, Texas and Arizona.
9I believe Borat demonstrated that nicely not long ago.
“Wear mask; save life.” Look it up if you haven’t already seen it.
10Apparently his parents kept him home from school on sex-ed day.
11Sweet Jesus. And they complain when we call them stupid…
12I swear! Chaplik is just another example of inbreeding.
13The measure used to prevent the transmission of AIDS (condoms) could be used by Representative Chaplik to prevent COVID, too. I suggest that Representative Chaplik get his hands on one of those extra large-size condoms, put it on his head, and roll it down below his jaw to his neck. For extra security he might want to tie it tightly around his neck with a string. Ot at least fasten it with an elastic band. If he does that I can almost guarantee that he won’t die of COVID-19.
Yours very crankily,
