The Goofy Protestors
Okay, so I have decided that the protestors should not be able to call themselves patriots. Even “Quarantine Protestors” is too legit for them
I have been calling them the Pro Covid18 Council. Up until them, there was a troublesome vacuum of leadership on the ProVirus movement. Now it’s rowdy.
Thelma, however, wins. She calls them the Flu Klux Klan.
Yeah, you can steal that.
Front line fodder.
1Another suggestion on the Net is Covidiots
2Shorten Skeeter’s name and lifeline to skeet. Simple minded little covidiots should be capable of learning one word commands. Hearing “pull” should do it for them after an experience or two.
3I’m kinda partial to “Branch Covidians.”
4One of our Alaska senators is whining that he wants his restaurant/bar in Anchorage opened up. Poor boy is losing money…wa wa wa. I emailed and told him if the GOP senators had done their jobs we wouldn’t be in this mess to begin with, so he can shut up and deal with it.
5AK Lynne: It is a big confusing: two politicians with the same name. Dan Sullivan, former mayor of Anchorage who wants to reopen his restaurant (McGinley’s), is not related to “Ohio” Dan Sullivan, current junior US Senator misrepresenting Alaska.
6God, forgive me, but I like to think of them as Darwin Award Winners.
7Go Thelma Go!!
8treehugger@7, I fear it’s far to late.
9And that reminds me: Dan Sullivan (former Anchorage mayor) is best remembered for keeping his floozie, Bernadette Wilson, on the municipality payroll.
Bernadette herownself is still making Trumpian bleating noises in the local Alaska media.
Read about former mayor Dan Sullivan (no relation to current US senator Dan Sullivan) here:

10I like Joe My Gods’s label for the pro-Trump fundies: Branch Covidians.
11New Rule
anyone is free to go anywhere they darn well please provided that:
They Purchase and wear a large Orange hat that says I’m probably contagious so stay the hell away from me.
They sign a waiver indicating that should they get COVID-19 they will not seek medical attention for themselves or any member of their family because this is their own darn fault.
They further agree that should they infect another person all of their assets are immediately forfeited and auctioned, that includes the house the truck, the guns and the confederate flag, (proceeds to be evenly divided amongst their victims).
On the plus side their names will automatically be entered in the contest for this year’s Darwin Awards!
Maybe that would cramp their style?
12Got a question: If a business, let’s say a restaurant, opens and a customer gets CV while there. What’s the liability of the business? I would think that insurance companies that insure businesses for liability, would discourage them from opening.
13Slipstream…oops! Oh well.
14Deb @12, RE: the ‘Trumpanzee Moran Waiver’ form–
Somebody has already produced the official waiver card– print, endorse, laminate, carry. To be signed by the COVID45 moran and a witness, then carried like a DL or organ donor card:

.
15Thelma’s “Flu Klux Klan” wins the innernets this week, although technically the ‘novel coronavirus’ SARS-Cov-2 isn’t an influenza virus.
Ruh-oh, now world-wide oil prices are cratering, not just the USAUSA#1 ones like the benchmark WTI futures index [that went deeply negative two days ago and recovered to ~$11/bbl now; 11/bbl is far below the breakeven price for all US producers…].
.
On the consumer upside, regular gas was –$1.36– [$1.35.9] at the NW San Antonio Costco pumps yesterday, and are surely heading much lower.
[don’t remember gas prices this low since the 1970s, we may see ’70s crossborder Pemex pump prices soon… yeow, my offshore CC powerboat has a 100gal main tank (gets ~1.7mpg), a fillup for $40-60?].

“Dashing hopes for some oil producers who may have thought negative prices were a weird quirk, the June WTI contract fell sharply on Tuesday.
During intraday trading June contracts collapsed by more than 45 percent, falling close to $11 per barrel. The selloff demonstrated that the ruinous supply glut is not going away, and that the meltdown for the May contract was not just a bizarre anomaly, but representative of an acute state of oversupply in North America.
In fact, there could be a rerun of negative prices in a month’s time, according to several analysts. “We believe prices are likely to remain at basement levels in the short-term with further shut-ins forthcoming – expect late-May to bring similar price movements as the June contract rolls over,” Raymond James wrote in a note on Tuesday.
The malaise bled over into Brent prices, which collapsed below $20 per barrel by midday Tuesday, down more than 25 percent.”
… “While the oil market drowns in oversupply, ***there also seems to be a glut of unusual policy responses coming from Washington aimed at bailing out the industry.***
But in the face of demand destruction on the order of 25 to 30 million barrels per day (mb/d), there is very little that the U.S. government can do to head off steep production losses and bankruptcies.
By Nick Cunningham of Oilprice.com”
— In other words, no matter what the orangeshitgibbon Lyin’ King bleats out, the oil biz is going to get hammered; and tens/hundreds of thousands of oil/energy workers are going to be unemployed shortly.
16Sooo much winning!!
Re: Darwin Awards
For these idiots to actually be eligible, they would have had to die already. Unfortunately, although deaths may occur – it will not be guaranteed for these idiots.
My friends and I suggested a few years back the concept of a Golden Lemming Award for people doing monumentally stupid actions, but not actually dying during the event. The Lemming seems appropriate for this group–since they only seem to want to act as a herd.
17to paraphase from death valley days : trump is the problem , not the government….
18I think they should all be arrested for unlawful assembly, then perp-walked through the nearest hospital, wearing the same protective gear they were wearing at their rally.
19Okay, maybe it was just wishful thinking about the Darwin Award winner thing. They have made themselves eligible, though, so time will tell …
