The Debate
Just a heads up from Politico – Chris Wallace will moderate the first presidential debate next Tuesday night.
According to a person familiar with the planning, the 90-minute debate will be divided into six 15-minute discussion areas. They include: Trump’s and Biden’s records, the Supreme Court, the coronavirus pandemic, race and violence in cities, election integrity, and the economy.
Hummmm … nothing on the environment or Trump’s health care plan? I guess there’s so many deadly problems in Trump’s America that you can’t possibly cover it all.
Hoping the health care plan will get some time within the pandemic section of the festivities.
Both could get some time during the “records” portion of the program.
1Chris Wallace is a paid conservative propaganda specialist. He is NOT a Journalist.
2Having him moderate is a yuuuge mistake as it, once again!, normalizes and gives credibility to conservative extremism.
Biden should be able to interject health insurance inside a couple areas like the pandemic (affect of people without insurance) and the economy (people who lost their insurance because of being out of work). Climate change will certainly affect the economy in the future. I’ll let him know.

In today’s Washington Post, Jennifer Rubin has great questions Chris Wallace should ask.
5He’s not the only moderator, is he?
6While discussing SCOTUS, healthcare can be brought up because of the case to get rid of ACA that is pending. I’m surprised they could narrow down to just six topics.
7Stand your ground, Joe! If the f king moron invades your personal socially distanced safe space use a foot sweep to take him down. Even if he has tested negative for COVID-19, don’t risk unprotected contact with any of the STDs that might be ready to leap off him. Do not forget your shoes & socks!
Joe may have a remnant of a stutter and occasionally misquote a fact. But in a battle of wits with that guy addled with an Adderall lisp, a not even fleeting acquaintance with facts and total inability to retain three monosyllabic words in his head, Joe can rope-a-dope him easily. Even with the moderators acting as “the hand tied behind his back,” if Joe has a few gaffes he’s still got this.
8Things I learned about the upcoming debates from my brother, the conspiracy theorist: the debates won’t happen, because Biden will claim to have COVID as an excuse to get out of them. This is because his handlers are terrified that his severe dementia will be on full display; I mean, the man can’t string three words together! If he does actually debate, he’ll have an earpiece with somebody whispering in his ear what to say. So, there ya go.
9Jill Ann @9, wasn’t it the f king moron who sat out one of the GOP 2015/16 debates in a cornfield or somewhere, until his campaign staff could adjust his meds or tie? You could relieve your bro the conspiracy theorist of some of his cash, if you challenge him to a few well placed bets. Whoever is in Donnie’s earpiece best not go more than five words, five small words or they will trash his available mental capacity. He’s like a learning disabled parrot. Took him weeks to learn the “build the wall” meme, and now they can’t get him to shut up about it.
Bets on: “squawk. Obama did it” ?
10I think Mr. Wallace should have control of the microphones, and be able to cut off the non-speaking participant when it isn’t his turn. That would be the Order part of Law and Order.
11Well, this is vastly unfair to Trump. Six discussion areas, and not one of them is the traditional “lock her up” chant? And nothing in there to let him re-live how he crushed the dementia test a few months ago, the one that Biden would surely fail?
Jill Ann: there’s stories circulating about how the Trump campaign is frantically trying to rein in the expectations that Trump has established: sleepy Joe, Joe with senility, etc. They know that Biden will easily crush Trump when it comes to coherent thoughts sustained for 15 minutes. So you’ll get to see just how divorced your brother is from reality, if he gloats how readily Trump “won” the debate.
12I hope I may be forgiven for pointing out the lack of punctuation in the “race and violence in cities,” section. That’s a bit of a tell isn’t it?

Yep — Commission on Presidential Debates has a standard of one moderator in all of the exchanges they sponsor.
14Moderator of the last debate, should it happen (if trump shows up), is Kristin Welker of NBC. I can’t remember the moderators of debate 2 or the VP debate. Trump having to face a woman questioner could get interesting if she challenges him. He might just blow a gasket.
15VP debate moderator is Susan Page of USA Today.
Copied from article I found:
16The three presidential debates will be moderated by Chris Wallace (Fox News Sunday), Steve Scully (C-SPAN Networks), and Kristen Welker (NBC News).
