Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
It was like having a well-loved son return, the one with the sense of humor and perspective. He is articulate, on point and a delight. This is who we need to get through the next terrible months.
A special cabinet level position needs to be developed for him: minister of sanity.
1Nobody can puncture GOP hypocrisy like Jon Stewart. Well, nobody still with us, with a bow to Molly Ivins.
2Timing is/was impeccable. Just what we need.
3Ms Juanita, thank you. No one does snacilbupeR the justice they deserve as does Jon Stewart. Jane and I are enjoying the snacilbupeR convention courtesy of Tivo. Jon, Samantha Bee, and a showering Bill Maher to name a few.
***warning*** Not safe for Mama or viewing at work: http://crooksandliars.com/2016/07/bill-maher-four-days-rnc-time-shower-and
Samantha Bee: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/watch-samantha-bee-meet-crazy-133859225.html;_ylt=AwrTcdE4RJJXQV4AuKAnnIlQ;_ylu=X3oDMTEydm11a3Q0BGNvbG8DZ3ExB
Massive apologies to Mama, but the four days on Bullshit Mountain demonstrate why no snacilbupeR should ever hold elective office.
4How I miss Jon Stewart.
I hope he makes more frequent returns to the evil TV box.
It does look like his quasi-retirement has been good for him, but !(&*@# it’s good to have him back.
5Thank you for posting this. I really miss Jon Stewart, but Stephen Colbert is doing some of his heavy lifting these days. I turned off the TeeVee last night because I could not bear the anger, hate, bigotry and racism exhibited during that “soul slaying apocalyptic hootenanny from hell”. I got that quote from Bloom County and boy is it the truth. Please don’t accuse me of plagiarism. I apologize to Mama for the mention of the netherworld that we got to see this week.
6Jon’s message to the RKlan: “You don’t own this country and you never did.” This is exactly their mindset. The rest of us are interlopers in their kingdom. The fear mongering has been mildly successful for them, so it was good to see President Obama on TV this morning refuting Drumpf’s false claims about violent crime in this country. It’s at a 30 year low. No matter how many experts present the facts to them, however, Repugnicans deny, deny, deny.
7Thanks for the link, JJ! I drifted off to sleep before this came on last night, so I’m extra glad you posted it today!
8Since we can’t have Molly Ivins, I’ll take Jon Stewart any time. It was wonderful to hear him again.
9Jon was spot on. I couldn’t stop smiling, it was so wonderful to see & hear him last night. More, please!
10Wonderful! Thank you! (And thanks to all who mentioned Miss Molly, because BLEEP I miss her!)
11I wish to pick a minor bone with Mr. Stewart:
Rather than saying “There is no real America”, I wish he’d said that there is no *fake* America.
We *all* make up real America, and have therefor a choice, and a voice, in what we want this country to be! Thanks to Brother Jon for making the case for US!
12Yeah, I still love Jon Stewart too. Colbert is better now that he’s not playing an idiot snacilbupeR clone. And Samantha Bee is tearing new orifices into snacilbupeR bodies and enlarging old ones. (Thanks for the links PKM.)
13Hannity is one sick puppy!! His hatred boils over.
