Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
Good for Houston! Congratulations, Juanita Jean!
1The first team in Texas to win a World Series. Take that Rangers.
2Did you see Morning Joe? Evidently Sports Illustrated called this in 2014!
3What a great series!! And I don’t watch baseball!
Congrats—It would have been hard not to want the Astro’s to win. They worked hard and had the win coming.
4Oh, and any day with out Trump BS is a happy day. Even an Hr. is nice.
Remember when the Rockets won the NBA championship? A lot of people considered that somewhat tainted since Michael Jordan was trying his hand at baseball at the time. The Astros won 101 games and beat the biggest payroll in baseball in the World Series, so there ain’t no taint to this.
Now to keep this team together for a while. That’s going to get expensive.
5Cubs, then the Astros. Who’s next? Anybody but the Dodgers or the Yankees is fine by me.
6Off the record-finally. Congrats JJ and the Astros. No jinxing them now.
Only wish the happiness now could make the hurricane damage go away.
7Give former manager Bo Porter a moment’s consideration. Former Hawkeye football and baseball standout. Thanks
8First WS I’ve watched all the way through. It was awesome and I am thrilled with the outcome. But I imagine you are even more excited than I, JJ. Congrats to all!
9Well done, Astros, well done! Congrats to Houston and JJ, both.
10So glad for you and all the Astros fans. After 56 years, it was time. Congratulations!
11Astros and Dodgers gave fans a series that defies superlatives. I can’t wait to hear Bob Costas give us his final thoughts on the season and the series.
12One of the sports writers for the Boston Globe says this Series reminded him of the 1975 one between Boston and Cincinnati, which was so good that the night before Game 7, a local TV sports guy said, “Instead of playing a seventh game, they should spread tables and checkered tablecloths across the outfields and just have a picnic, a feast to a glorious World Series, and toast one another until dawn.’’ This was a GREAT series, and I’m so pleased that the ‘Stros took it.
But I’m still mad at them for knocking the Sox out of the playoffs.
13Congratulations on a well earned victory for the Astros and all the loyal fans, like Juanita Jean, who stuck with them through the bad times. May the all enjoy the good times to the full!
14P.S. when do they announce the AL MVP? Rooting for Altuve …
So happy for you and Houston!
15Congrats!
I have been thinking about you all day, and knowing how exhausted and happy you are. Congratulations!
16Dear Mrs. Juanita,
17Thought you might like to know that Alex Bregman, from Albuquerque, is the son of the former state head of the Democratic Party in NM!
I don’t watch the game, but whatever makes Juanita Jean happy is a good thing. Congratulations!
18Ignore racist memes of texas players since after all it is texas.
19If they had any class they would have benched Yuli Gurriel immediately for rest of the series.
But I guess winning is more important then racism.
I’m glad the Astros won. But would it be alright if they squeezed in “TRUMP RESIGNS!’, if it were the case?
