Thanks, Obama
Tennessee has my favorite story of the year.
A Kingsport woman told police she was counterfeiting money because she read online that President Barack Obama made a new law allowing her to print her own money, according to a police report.
Pamela Downs, 45, of Kingsport, Tennessee, tried to pass a counterfeit $5 bill at a local grocery. The clerk got suspicious and called the police. Downs claimed to have received the $5 bill at a gas station a few days before.
Downs was asked by the officer if her purse could be searched, to which she agreed. Inside her purse, the officer found a $100 which was also counterfeit, according to the report. The bill was printed in black and white and the backside of the bill was upside down.
A couple of receipts from Walmart were also found inside the purse, showing Downs had purchased copy paper and a printer.
Uh oh. Red damn handed.
Downs was then placed in handcuffs. Downs then reportedly said, “I don’t give a ****, all these other bitches get to print money so I can too.”
Yeah, the other bitches.
She then told officers she read online that President Obama had made a new law that permitted her to print her own money because she is on a fixed income, the report stated.
Thanks, Obama.
Down then signed a consent to search waiver, which officers executed at her apartment. Inside they found several items consistent with being used to print counterfeit currency including paper, scissors, glue and a printer. All the items were seized and put into evidence.
Several more counterfeit bills, both cut and uncut, were located at the apartment. Officers estimated the total to be around $30,000 to $50,000.
I’m asking you: is that just not the perfect story? I just flat love that story.
Thanks to MB for the heads up.
no guts, no glory
1Betcha she didn’t vote for Obama.
Betcha she didn’t sign up for ACA.
What ya wanna bet she thinks ‘Jade Helm 15’ is Obama’s secret war.
Saw some guys – here in Florida – riding around with radio direction finders and invisible aluminum foil hats — with bills in the front & back … you know, like Sherlock Holmes.
2Bless her heart.
3Desperate times call for desperate measures! LOL Evidently she didn’t even use a color printer! LOL Tennessee … LOL
How the hell can people be so damned stupid? It just boggles the mind!!
4That sounds like sovereign citizen guy that said speeding wasn’t against the law. Wow, legal degrees being handed out like candy at Backwoods Ignoramus Community College in Light My Fart, Arkansas.
5This is nothing more than a prime example of the stupid that is this country. Obama “made” a law? Oh, you mean “Emperor” Obama? And people like this are allowed to vote. God help us all.
6Who the hell wrote her script? This has Hollywood farce written all over it!
7Am I the only one who feels sorry for her? What must it be like to go through life with a mind that weak.
8Liberty!! Freedom!! Her First Amendment rights have been trampled! Yeah…THAT’S the ticket!!
I love Darwin.
9Wow!
That woman aint right.
But Obama done tole her she could print herself up a mess a money so she get past her present circumstance.
Please please please United States of America, draw a line around the so-called Confederate States and cast them adrift. Give 20 or 30 years to simmer in their jus of stoopid. Sadly Texas gotta go too. Stoopid has utterly taken over.
10See Hun, you forgot to say, “Obama may I”.
11I sure wish what she said were true. I could use a pile of money right now.
12I cannot believe she was smart enough to get online and read.
13Instead of printing her own money, she would have been better off following the Republican method of creating extra money by hiring lobbyists to convince the Congress to pass tax breaks for her. It has the same effect on your bottom line as printing money, but when you claim you’re following the law, no one goes through your purse.
14If she read it online, it must be true.
15Yeah sure…post about Tennessee’s dummies, like that will make Texas look not as dumb? And anyway, this woman isn’t even a member of our state legislature. We have State reps who want to impeach the Governor for bowing to the Supreme Court of the USA.

16It’s about time Obama got recognized as Sainthood. Used to be ‘Jesus said I could do it’.
17Wow, where’s the link?
I can see why you enjoyed this, can’t wait for tomorrow’s start of Jade Helm !!

19Of course it’s Obama’s fault. It’s always Obama’s fault.
20Do you ever see those ads on the borders of websites you’re perusing? “Obama signs new law…” They seem to always be geared toward mortgages or insurance sales or whatnot.
There’s something about this story, and something about this woman, that makes me half-believe that she misread one of these come-ons, and took it to be true.
Doesn’t the concept sound like scam patter? “This simple trick is like printing money if you’re on a fixed-income…”
21I’m w Alan and daChipster. I don’t think her elevator goes all the way to the top, and it’s a dumb-waiter to boot. It is very sad how many people there are that prey on the feckless. This poor thing probably only understands half of what she hears or reads and fills in the gaps with the goofiness her friends, kids, cousins, mailman, etc, all spout. And she really believes that the well heeled women she sees, young and old, are printing their own money….no wonder she is calling them names. It makes me sad.
22Kingsport, Tennessee = Bastrop, Texas.
I promise.
23The REALLY scary part is that the clerk “suspected” the bill was bogus. This thing was worse than a Chuck E Buck and he only “suspected”??????
24I tremble for our Republic–what’s left of it.
25WalMart took her bills?
26More proof that freedom also requires a basic civics education.
Good Grief.
27You know, she actually believes what she hears? Unlike all the rest of us who say yeah yeah…. Maybe we can get her to come be the Secretary of the Paper Money division when Tayuksis goes off and starts printing its own money. This morning I asked my husband if we could move to another state if Texas actually secedes.
