This one came as no shocked to me. Dwayne Bohac, a Republican state representative hailing from northwest Houston announced his retirement today.
In 2018, Bohac won by 72 votes out of about 50,000.
Bohac will best be remembered when a couple of sessions ago, he sponsored the Merry Christmas bill because his son’s school wished Happy Holidays instead. It got national attention but nothing else.
All the rest of Houston went blue in 2018, so Bohac chickened out.
That makes me smile.

1I’m sure he just wants to spend more time with his family … and the lobbyists who promised him a cushy retirement.
His Texas House bio says he was “born and raised in District 138”. Any true son of Texas knows that “you RAISE chickens but REAR children”. But come to think of it, maybe he chose the right verb after all.

3My guess is there is going to be a lot of GOP exits all over America now. However, Ms. Lindsey is STILL going on TV, defending tRump.
4I’m still waiting to find out what “they” have on Miss Lindsey that controls him so completely and keeps him hysterically defending Republicans. He’s hiding fearfully in his closet, and it could be something as simple as outing him publicly. He’s just not willing to accept that it wouldn’t be the end of the world when everybody knows it already.
5Will the Texodans (?) vote in favor of impeachment or will they follow the party line to the bitter end? They could add a bunch to the “in favor” column!

I wonder if any of these representative’s families are upset at Trump for forcing them to spend more time with their “loved ones”?
