Ted, Ted, Mean In The Head

July 09, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Ted Cruz has been chastised by the FEC three times this election cycle for exceeding donation limits.  Three. That’s not a common thing. Only three other senate candidates have received an excessive contribution notice and those three only received one notice. Reminder: Ted Cruz has three.

Local Texas newspapers have taken note of this – but what with all this fake news and stuff, there’s no telling if any Republicans even read the newspaper.

My guess is that this has something to do with it. The Houston Chronicle did not mince words.

Campaigns have become aggressive in signing up monthly donors to create a steadier stream of funding. On President Donald Trump’s campaign website, donors are given the option of checking a box to make their one-time donation or a monthly contribution.

Cruz has a similar feature on his website, but with a key difference. Instead of giving people the chance to opt-in to a monthly donation by checking a box, supporters are automatically enrolled in monthly donations unless they un-check a box.

Ted Cruz is slicker than an eel dipped in axel grease, Honey.

By the way, his opponent, who has out-raised him $13 million to $9 million hasn’t exceeded limits even once.

(The Houston Chronicle has the best story on this.)

Thanks to Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen for the heads up.

  1. Hey there – a friend went to Ted’s campaign site. Even when you check the opt-out box, the custom URL in the address bar still shows that you’ve not opted-out. In other words, even though you opt out, Ted’s site submits it as a recurring, monthly contribution.

So, it’s far worse than the newspapers have reported. It’s outright, intentional fraud.

  2. Ted’s total includes hundreds of angry refund demands from people who trusted him with a one time donation and then found their credit cards over limit or checks bouncing.

While snacilbupeR tend to vote for their Cons despite all evidence to indicate that would be contrary to their own best interests, Teddie Crooze has risen to the top as Captain Obviously Corrupt. Nothing like a few over the limit credit card charges and/or bounced checks to illustrate Teddie’s point. Now those who might have voted for Teddie are being sent monthly reminders of why not to vote for Teddie. WTG Teddie!

Dems have the “monthly” check box, too. It doesn’t look good on either party!

And I’m not usually a “both sides do it” kinda gal.

I’m just sick and tired of all the email I get saying the sky is falling down and we need $20. Forget it! I am SO done!

Nothing like pissing off your supporters. Good job, Ted!

  6. Heavens, is it really possible for a Republican in Texas to be too corrupt?

    6
  7. Malarky, the difference is that the Dems give you the *option* to make it monthly. Cr–Ooze doesn’t.

  8. I’ve seen the box on Democratic pages to make my donation a monthly repeater, but it’s an option I have to sign up for, not opt out of. That’s just slimy.

Personally, I now find Chinless Wonder McTurtle the Most Hated thing in the Senate, but I’ll still give it to Oozy Croozy for the Slimiest.
