Ted Cruz and Bubba Hypocrisy
You know Ted Cruz is stealing John Edwards’ “two-Americas” populism? You know how he’s all upset at crony capitalism and thinks Wall Street shouldn’t be getting favors?
Well, Ted’s new sugar daddy is making all this pretty difficult. Billionaire Hedge fund CEO Robert Mercer is big on Ted.
On the one hand, Mercer’s support is fantastic for Cruz for all the obvious reasons (having a billionaire in your corner is nice). On the other hand, Mercer’s hedge fund—Renaissance Technologies—recently faced an unflattering congressional investigation, the results of which indicated that it used complex and unorthodox financial structures to dramatically lower its tax burden. This drew scorching bipartisan criticism from investigators on the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.
The guy is a tax dodger – no doubt about it.
So what’s he buying with his millions to Ted? Here ya go. He’s buying favorable tax policies.
So Ted’s against Wall Street except for those parts of Wall Street who are for him. Not surprised, are you?
Thanks to Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen for the heads up.
I want to start drinking again so I can have an excuse for going redneck on his butt and having an excuse.
1“…scorching bipartisan criticism…” Wow, that had to hurt.
2I like the idea of bipartisan criticism. There may be hope.
3Cruz practice his Arabic at the NRA love fest by saying Aloha Akbar. (God is Greater-allahu akbar)
4Surprised? … oh, hell, no!!
5Of course they both stole it from Disrael’s Two Nations.
It’s sad that a problem cited in Victorian times is still a problem.
6Rand Paul and the Cruzer’s recent declaration speeches are just about word for work the same! Paul is experiencing some deep voodoo for the way he is now so self-defensive over what he said but not once has he apologized for how he treated his wife in front of everyone. Why she didn’t shove him off the stage is beyond me!
7Has anyone noticed that Ted Cruz looks like Mr. Haney of “Green Acres,” only without the vest and hat? I also believe he’s the same kind of salesman that Haney was, and as President he’ll do the same to the United States that Haney did to the Douglases.
