Technical Details
Several of you asked me why the website was showing as not secure. That’s because it lacked something called SSL and was simply warning you not to enter your credit card number. Since we don’t take online payment – and when I ask you for political donations I send you to another secure website – I didn’t really need it and certainly didn’t want to pay for it.
Well, Anna the Geek found that she could get me one for free through my web host. She installed it and it’s up and running today. Everybody thank Anna for your peace of mind.
So, now we are all safe and secure.
Safe and secure? Not as long as 45 has the button.
1That is good news! I read another blog that is also not secure and it can prove difficult to read or respond to comments. Glad you have a secure site now!
2Good on you! Just please don’t get rid of that slight whiff of permanent wave solution when I log in. Otherwise, how would I know I’m in the right place? 🙂
3Thank you! Making this site https compliant will also reduce the odds you get hacked.
4Good move. Like you say, it’s no biggie from a security standpoint but it won’t be long before browsers will refuse to visit non https sites.
5I feel safer and securer already.
6Thank you Anna the Geek. Safe and secure surely does feel better.
7So will you have tchotchkes available? T-shirts, mugs, other stuff so we can boast that we, too, are cool and faithful to this site?
Asking for a friend?
8I’d like a mug with the “Juanita Jean’s…” logo and the line “a professional political organization” on it. It’ll be the only pink thing in my possession!
@Paul#1 – that’s just what I was thinking!
9Thank you kindly, Anna-the-Geek. I feel all warm and snuggly.
And Opinionated Hussy #9 — As for me, I want a mug that says
Juanita Jean’s The Texas Chainsaw Manicurist
and Professional Political Organization
Can I have one? Pretty please? It’d be ALMOST as good as a pair of pink cowboy boots.
