Take a Breath
CNN is announcing that Mueller will have a report as early as next week.
Attorney General Bill Barr is preparing to announce as early as next week the completion of Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, with plans for Barr to submit to Congress soon after a summary of Mueller’s confidential report, according to people familiar with the plans.
Does somebody other than a Trump appointee get to see the entire report?
I am preparing myself to be disappointed.
Smacks of Nixon’s summary of the White House tapes. Let the fireworks begin!
1I wouldn’t worry too much. I doubt Mr Mueller would claim executive privilege in a House investigation.
2Maybe they can release the report to one person, like Sean Hannity. He can then explain what’s contained in the document to viewers on Fox News. Trump will of course watch, and when he sees there are no incriminating findings contained within, he’ll immediately announce an impromptu press conference in the Rose Garden to proclaim his vindication. When asked by a reporter for the Washington Post whether Mueller’s Report could then be released for all to read, since there is no collusion or complicity on his part, Trump relies, “Terrific idea! Yes! I’ll get somebody on that right away.”
3Marcy Wheeler, at Empty wheel blog thinks all of the report will come out in indictments which are guarded by the courts, and thus cannot be stopped by Low Barr.
Additionally, the report probably can be obtained by the House, as the Senate really doesn’t want to know.
4Either the full unredacted report is given to the House, or the House needs to begin impeachment hearings with all the obstructionists called to testify, especially Devine Nunes.
5We paid for the thing– we should be able to read it. All of it, if we want to, even the boring bits.
61) As I have said before the thuglicans have field tested this strategy in Wisconsin and on the Frist ( Valerie Plume) special consul so yeah I expect to be disappointed
2) Watch this as calm Dutch historian overtorques wingnut tucker carlson – warning some of tuckers comments should be muted for those of delicate sensibilities. reminds me o’lielly meltdown tape.

7When I saw that I thought of Bill O’Reilly’s “%it! We’ll do it live!” Unfortunately the Fan Club will see it as tough ol’ Tucker putting Twig Boy in his place.
Still I loved it. Hope I’m wrong and it will be Tucker’s second BowTie moment.
8Remember also that Barr was AG when reporter Joseph Casolaro investigating what he called “The Octopus” conspiracy with its core being the theft and dissemination of a law enforcement software program (Inslaw) by the US gov. and specific officials profiting from that theft

That coupled with the rest of his record shows barr’s greatest legal achievement is the burying of evidence and crimes that may threaten his political masters. This is why he was appointed.
9Barr is as dishonest and dishonorable as they come.
Talking heads around here don’t think there will be a report released next week. This has happened before, so holding your breath is not a good idea.
10Kellyanne (Smeagle) Conway is hinting a report won’t ever be released. I’m sure the Trump people would like that.
Trump may face more danger from the SDNY investigations than from Mueller.
11It may be secret but you can bet someone on the team will leak it to NY Times or Washington Post.
12@Paul #12
The Mueller investigation has been amazingly air tight with very very few leaks. But if there is an effort to suppress or destroy the product of this investigation I hope that the Mueller team does decide to break silence and get it released to the american public who paid for it.
But between future court filings, House sub peona and oversight authority plus other possible “legal” methods of revealing it to the public I hope that “leaking” would not be necessary if only to avoid the discussion becoming about the release of the information rather then the substance of the report.
i.e. Seattle Congressman McDermit(?) revealing a phone conversation where widdle newtie boy was conspiring to side step ethical sanctions from the House committee and with the aid of paid for faux news his plotting to avoid punishment disappeared in a fog of recriminations on how that information was obtained.
This is not a partisan hack job like the starr inquisition, benghazi investigation or any of the other faux fishing expeditions run by thuglican ideological hacks who cared less for facts as for supplying talking points to faux news and wing nuts.
13CNN? The same CNN that just hired Sarah Isgur (Flores) as their new political editor, the same Sarah Isgur who was Jeff Sessions’ spokeswoman, and who previously swore loyalty to Con Man Don? I’m quickly losing what little faith I once had in them.
14Just heard on NPR that apparently 80% of Americans polled think the entire report should be made public. Which means at least half of the Republican lunatics agree.
So they are probably thinking something like Rick @3 suggested, only without first requiring the intervention of Hannity.
It’s flat out amazing how the continuing revelations have made us numb. Starting with the emoluments violations which would have had any pre-2000 president impeached and dumped, all the way through scummy deals with Saudi Arabia and secret talks with Russia. At this point, there is no way the lobbyistas (AKA the Cabinet) will invoke the 25-th amendment. While the House may impeach Trump, there is no way that he would be convicted in the Senate as it is currently comprised.
But when you take a step back and look at the incredible pile of obvious malfeasance and misfeasance, it is just plain stunning.
15Hmmmmm…CNN hires a GOP operative who lied for Sessions (and by default Individual-1), and a day or two later has the scoop “Mueller’s investigation is almost done”…
Coincidence? Maybe? Disinformation? Possibly. We’ve been hearing this same “news” for quite a long time now and it’s been fake new up to now.
Of course, someday it will be true, but I think it’s a bit dodgy that CNN has the scoop immediately after Sarah Whazzerface is hired.
Color me skeptical.
16Subpoenas for all!
17I am not a fan of tweets but Neil Katyal who helped write the Special Counsel legislation wrote a series of tweets about the release of reports. It was extremely helpful.
