UPDATED: This explosive story is breaking on every network:  About 30 minutes ago, Donald Trump renounced his affiliation with the Republican Party, saying he’s going to switch to the Democratic and form a political alliance with Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.  He also announced that he’s introducing legislation on Monday to expand Medicare to everyone in the US, including undocumented immigrants.  He will also donate his entire fortune, including real estate interests, to Medicaid.  In making this announcement, Trump said:

“When I awoke this morning I was hit with the revelation that I’ve been spending far too much time on Twitter and have not been doing my job since being inaugurated.  From now on, I will work 24/7 to get healthcare for all, to protect the climate, and to stop Russians from interfering with our elections and government.  To prove my commitment, I’m giving all of my worldly goods to Medicaid to help assure its solvency.  Further, I’m requiring all of my billionaire cabinet members to also give their fortunes to Medicaid.  Failure to do so will disqualify them from membership in the cabinet.”

UPDATE: In a follow up announcement, Trump revealed that Bill and Hillary Clinton have agreed to distribute all of Trump’s fortune through the Clinton Foundation.

OK, y’all, it’s already started: Michael Steele is advising clients to bolster relationship with Mike Pence, says Trump won’t finish his term.

Also, former Clinton staffer and 3 time presidential campaign veteran Claude Taylor has tweeted that he’s talked to a very reliable source who says that, in the face of Flynn flipping, Trump is considering all options, including resignation.

I personally believe this is way early, but the resulting talk is in the correct direction.

If this is true, and I highly suspect it is, Nunes not only needs to resign as committee chairman, he needs to resign as congressman.

As we suspected, the person who leaked the report to Nunes is Michael Ellis, a former staff member of the Intelligence Committee and closely tied to Nunes.  But, there’s been another official identified.

[Ezra] Cohen-Watnick is a former Defense Intelligence Agency official who was originally brought to the White House by Michael T. Flynn, the former national security adviser. The officials said that this month, shortly after Mr. Trump wrote on Twitter about being wiretapped on the orders of President Barack Obama, Mr. Cohen-Watnick began reviewing highly classified reports detailing the intercepted communications of foreign officials.

What the fool tarnation is Flynn’s guy, who is often described as his protege, still doing there?  And why are we paying our tax money for him to spend time reviewing “highly classified reports” to try to support Trump’s wacko theory?  How do we know he’s not also reviewing those documents to support Flynn?

And here’s why I think that.

After H.R. McMaster was chosen as the new National Security Adviser, The Washington Post reported that McMaster told Cohen-Watnick that he would be moved to another job. U.S. officials told the Post that CIA Director Mike Pompeo told McMaster that those in the intelligence community didn’t think the young Cohen-Watnick was “up to the job.”

According to Politico, which first reported on this incident, Cohen-Watnick then went to Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner. Two days after McMaster told him he would get a new job, Cohen-Watnick was back in the same place Flynn put him in.

So the new National Security Advisor wanted to fire him but Kushner and Bannon wanted him back in his old job.  He’s 30 years old. What the hell? Does anydamnbody know who is in charge?

I am telling you this one damn thing – this Nunes thing stinks like he’s got a goat under each arm and a pocketful of week old crawfish.

So Trump and Ryan have declared war on the Freedom Caucus.

They don’t seem properly chastised because most of them are referring to it as “drama.”  And, Trump’s 35% approval rating doesn’t make his hands look any bigger.

What’s he gonna do – call Vladimir and ask him to buy some better Republicans?

Dude, they seem to have you and Ryan in a corner.  And you’re whining and whimpering.

Donald Trump ventured into the world of sugar and spice and all things nice yesterday and was seemingly shocked that women are actually allowed to be educated and read books and stuff.

Around we’ve had leaders like Susan B. Anthony. Have you heard of Susan B. Anthony? I’m shocked that you’ve heard of her — who dreamed of a much more fair and equal future and an America where women themselves as she said helped to make laws and elect the lawmakers, and that’s what’s happening more and more.”

And he wasn’t been sardonic.  He’s shocked that someone snitched to us hooter toters that Susan B Anthony is like a real person.

And there was this:

“My cabinet is full of really incredible women leaders,” Trump told the room.

 

Yep.  There ya go – four out of twenty are female, which is kinda full on the Less Than Half Empty scale.  Hell, that’s just barely more women than he has married.

He has the whitest male staff since Ronald Reagan and that’s the truth.  That’s because Vladimir doesn’t know many women.

Newsweek is now reporting that FBI director James Comey tried to go public last summer in an editorial exposing Russian interference in the presidential election.  The overly cautious Obama White House said no.  After it became so obvious in the early fall, Obama finally consulted the goddam Republicans about the hacking, who predictably chose party over country, so blatant interference was allowed to continue through election day.  The worst case scenario resulted.

So, should we now add Obama to the list of people to blame for the catastrophe and daily slow train wreck unfolding on national television?

Unfortunately, methinks yes.
