Let’s Stop Talking Collusion

December 04, 2017 By: El Jefe Category: Trump, Uncategorized

We’ve all heard it…hell, most of us have spoken it.  We know it’s as true as our knowledge that the sun will rise in the east tomorrow.  The Russians worked to get Donald Trump elected to the most powerful office in the world.  And he and his team colluded with them, and WikiLeaks, to do just that. And NOW, the worst president in the history of the United States is now infesting OUR White House, twitter raging from the toilet and binging on Fox Noise.  Jesus, what a travesty.

But, I digress.  As we all know, Mike Flynn, fired National Security Advisor and now confessed felon, flipped on Trump to save himself and his son from long sentences in federal prison.  Where that goes can’t be good for whoever is left in the White House.  But let’s look at what Mueller got Flynn to plead to, which is lying to the FBI.  To me, this points to Mueller’s direction in this case, which is not collusion, which will be very tough to prove and prosecute, but to obstruction of justice.  Trump’s spastic and ever-changing stories on Russia, Comey’s firing, Flynn’s firing, and his chaotic administration all point to Trump’s desperate attempt to lie his way out of this problem, but it’s not working.  The more he lies, the more press he gets, but also the brighter the spotlight shines.

In his past life as a real estate promoter and game show host, Trump lied on a regular basis.  He has not held to any normalized standard because he was only screwing his investors, his contractors, his game show contestants, and his banks.  Now he’s screwing around on the world stage, and his conduct just simply won’t fly here.  Because he’s a tool for the hard right conservatives in the congress they enable this abhorrent behavior.  However, once Mueller and the FBI make their case, it will be virtually impossible to protect him.

I have been saying since the first moment of this train wreck, the Trump administration will not end well.  Those who voted for him and still support him will have to explain to their grandkids why they did.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders Logic

November 21, 2017 By: El Jefe Category: Trump

In answer to questions about Trump condemning Al Franken over the “Trumped up” groping charge vs her own boss’s legion of charges, she said, “Specifically, Senator Franken has admitted wrongdoing and the President hasn’t.  That’s a very clear distinction.”

Let’s put that logic in context with 2 other well known names:

“Specifically, Ted Bundy has admitted wrongdoing and Charles Manson hasn’t. That’s a very clear distinction.”

See how stupid that sounds?

The Drinking Game Continues

November 11, 2017 By: El Jefe Category: Trump

When Trump nominated his first slate of appalling appointees to high office within the administration, he inadvertently create a drinking game for us.  Here’s how it works – think of the most unqualified, dishonest moron possible, and when he nominates that person, DRINK! This game has wreaked havoc on my liver since last January, and the game is actually picking up.  Trump is now appointing lower level positions and Senate Republicans are simply playing along.

Let’s play the drinking game today – first, the qualifications of a new nominee; this nominee is a 36 year old young man, 3 years out of law school who has never argued a case in court.  Hell, he’s never even argued a motion in court.  He’s a blogger who writes highly partisan posts, likes to call the last Democratic candidate Hillary Rotten Clinton, and wrote a piece during the last administration about how Barack Obama was destroying the Constitution by introducing legislation for background checks after the Newtown massacre.  He was a speechwriter for Mitt Romney in 2012, and an aide to Luther Strange when he was appointed to be senator after Granny Sessions was named attorney general.

Who is this candidate, and what’s he nominated for?  Why he is Brett Talley, and he’s been nominated to a lifetime position as a federal judge in the Middle District of Alabama.  Oh, and it gets better; after coming to Washington with Luther Strange, he then took a job in the Justice Department in the office that does…wait for it…appointments to federal judgeships.  Can you spell inside track?  And one last little tidbit…he was unanimously rated by the American Bar Association as “not qualified” for this appointment.

Ignoring the profound absurdity of this nomination, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved him on a party line vote on Thursday sending the nomination for confirmation in the Senate.  So, let’s summarize.  Trump’s 4th ever nominee to a lifetime appointment in the federal judiciary is a 36 year old lawyer 3 years out of law school with zero trial experience, a radically partisan history including public support for the NRA, rated not qualified by the ABA, and who likely lobbied the Justice Department for his own nomination.

Next step for us?  DRINK!

No, Donald, It’s a GUN Problem

November 06, 2017 By: El Jefe Category: Fun With Guns

Today in Tokyo, Trump said that the mass shooting in Sutherland Springs Texas yesterday was “a mental health problem” and “not a guns situation”.  As we’ve pointed out before, every country has mental health issues, but the ONLY country that has a mass shooting problem is the United States.  The difference between us and other developed countries?  Guns.  Hundreds of millions of guns.

The Sutherland Springs shooter was 26 and had received a bad conduct discharge from the Air Force in 2014 after serving a year in a military jail for assaulting his wife and his child.  He bought his assault rifle at an Academy in San Antonio.  How in the hell can an individual with this kind of criminal record?  Answer – The background check system in this country SUCKS.  Many records are still paper.  Not all criminal records make it into the system.  NO mental health data gets into the system unless a court adjudicates a person incompetent.

In short, any idiot, criminal, and weirdo can easily put his hands on a weapon(s) with a high capacity magazine and all the ammo he can afford.  This is not a mental health problem, Donald, it’s a GUN problem.  Hundreds of millions of guns.

Trump Turns on Kushner

Ooo.  Pop some popcorn and chill the beer.  Trump is apoplectic and turns on Kushner, Stone tries to get Trump to trump up (no pun intended) a BS federal investigation of the Uranium One deal.  Beginning of the end?

Trump’s Next Stunt

October 21, 2017 By: El Jefe Category: Trump

It’s becoming clear that Trump is getting ready to pull some stupid (read dangerous) stunt in the next couple of weeks.  This morning, he tweeted that next Thursday, he is releasing all classified documents about the Kennedy assassination investigation.  The documents are believed to be a treasure trove for historians (and conspiracy theorists) and should cause quite an uproar.  This tweetnouncement comes on the heels of a puzzling WH announcement yesterday that Trump has signed an amendment to GWB’s Executive Order 13223 signed in 2001 right after 9/11.  The original order was given to activate the ready reserve of armed forces and the expand the authority of the Secretary of Defense as he was ginning up the “War on Terror”, meaning he was going to attack Iraq.

When Trump signed the amendment yesterday, questions started flying about what it meant.  No one really knew, until word got out this morning that Trump signed the order so the Air Force could recall 1,000 pilots.  That’s right, kids, 1,000 pilots who’ve moved on in their lives are being recalled.

This goofy sumbitch is going to start a real live rootin’ tootin’ shooting war to distract from the FBI investigation and the chaos that has become a part of our daily lives.  Oh, and there’s this little detail:  There are 3 special elections coming up in November and December to take Jeff Sessions seat in Alabama, Jason Chafetz seat in Utah, and Tim Murphy’s seat in Pennsylvania where Dems stand a chance of gaining ground on the Repubs prior to the 2018 elections.  In Alabama, the Repubs nominated lunatic and weirdo who wears a tiara on his cowboy hat, Roy Moore, to run against Dem Doug Jones who wasn’t give a prayer to win even a month ago.  Now, the latest poll, conducted by none other than Fox Noise, has Jones TIED with Moore.  Is it because Jones is that strong?  Not likely.  It’s more like, as written by John Archibald wrote in Al.com, Roy Moore is falling in the polls because,

“…every time Roy Moore speaks, Roy Moore comes out of his mouth. And as history has shown, the more Moore is heard, the more Alabamians – even staunchly conservative, deeply religious, red-on-red Alabamians – begin to have doubts.”

If Alabama goes to the Dems, that makes the Senate 51-49, making control even more possible for the Dems in 2018. Repubs always do better in elections when the government has voters terrified of dark skinned scary people, especially when those dark skinned scary people don’t like the US.

Am I saying that Donald Trump is going to start a shootin’ war to distract from his own troubles and get Republicans elected to Congress?  That’s EXACTLY what I’m arguing.  Even in the chaos that is today’s US government, patterns emerge.  And one pattern that is clear is that Trump will do ANYTHING, (like releasing controversial classified material or starting a war) no matter how many people will get killed or lives destroyed to make himself feel or look better, at least in his own mind.

And I’ll bet you a loaf of my homemade bread and a case of my home brewed beer that I’m dead on with this one (no pun intended).
