June 20, 2018 By: El Jefe Category: Border Catastrophe, Trump
Steve Schmidt, McCain campaign manager and prominent Republican strategist, announced last night that he’s left the Republican Party. His reasons are Trump and his “zero tolerance” border fail that’s consuming our entire country. Here’s the tweet:
Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
Hopefully, more and more Republicans will follow suit due to Trump and his Ghouls turning their stomachs enough that they find it necessary to vomit the bile building in their guts because of the inhumanity that is now the Repuke party!
1Like I said before, all it takes is for a certain number of R’s to bolt and become D’s in both bodies to swing an impeachment.
2Steve Schmidt has been an unqualified critic of both Dump and the Rethuglicans almost since the inauguration, so I am surprised that it took him this long to make it official. He often appears on MSNBC and his opinions are absolutely spot on.
3Schmidt is not only a frequent MSNBC commenter, he is extremely vocal on Twitter. He despises Trump, and also calls out the complicit Republicans in not-polite terms. I guess maybe he’s trying to atone for helping to inflict Sarah Palin on us….
4Let us not forget: We all owe President Trump a big ol Texas “Thank You” for almost single-handily destroying the GOP.
5Good for him. I understand the impulse to fix things from the inside, but… at some point you’ve just got to cut bait.
John Kelly is apparently just running out the clock, having given up on making any real changes in the Administration. I don’t know why he doesn’t resign in protest.
6George, I think I’ll hold off on the “Thank You”s for awhile. Assuming we have any semblance of a country left by the time the GOP is destroyed, we can only hope we can salvage this mess.
7Not impressed for a variety of reasons. We have learned nothing new about Donnie since the day he rode down the escalator. Excepting the extent of the Russian collusion and covfefe that surrounds his family, campaign and maladministration. Nothing he has done or not done should surprise anyone with access to the history of Donnie. That he would weaponize fear with border insecurities and go all totalitarian on innocent babies and toddlers is many loathsome things, but it is not a surprise. Those around him speak of binary and not binary choices in simplistic and evil terms.
To which there is one solution, since this maladministration is so hewn to binary choices. Pick up your pen, Dotard45, to retract YOUR “zero intolerance” policy that breaks up families and holds children hostage. Or face impeachment.
Steve Schmidt and others becoming new day Independents, remaining Republicans or (barf) becoming Democrats is weak tea, at best. Speak up you simpletons, McConnell, Ryan Meadows, et. al. Either Dotard45 frees the children TODAY or impeachment begins with NO points at “stop” today.
Got that ‘Chuck & Nancy’? Good. Now get to work.
8Steve Schmidt claims to have join a party that opposed slavery and stood for human dignity. That was in 1988, remember Reagan Bush 41 Iran-Contra, support of the Mujahideen ( i.e. Taliban, ben Laden ), Evan Mechan Repuplican Gov. of Az. Impeached & removed for corruption but continues in GOP politics.
9better a death bed conversion than no conversion, but please save us from the BS explainations of why you were a Republican to begin with.
Too little, too late.
10*** breaking news ***
Allegedly Kirstjen Nielsen has prepared an order to keep families together for Donnie to sign and he claims he’ll sign it. We’re waiting…

Looks like the Mexican serenade last night worked.
12Yes too little indeed. Not sure what color lipstick will look good on the Orange pig pooping on our American values. But I guess he could not figure out how to make a buck off the tent jails for the poor kidnapped kids so he signed something today. Hope he does not break his small piggie foot with patting himself on the back……..
13We need more representatives like Representative Elijah Cummings and John Lewis.

If anyone missed what Representative Cummings said on the House floor yesterday: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2018/06/19/cummings_blasts_republicans_for_child_internment_camps_at_border_what_country_is_this.html
Donnie and Kirstjen, you’ve made one tiny step in the correct direction. Now do whatever it takes with DOJ, HHS, Homeland Security and every department you’ve involved in your mess to reunite those families. This is your mess created by your “zero tolerance” policy. No excuses. No delay. Employ all speed and logistics necessary to reunite those children with their families.
Babies here and Mom or Dad already deported? Give them their choice of returning here First Class or returning their children to them when, where and how they choose. You did this atrocity in OUR name, so step, step and find adequate ways to apologize in OUR name and make this right.
14@Jane & PKM- I agree. Where did funding & approval of such to FLY mothers to WA from TX come from? Many of them were given a paper with children’s names/locations on them to only see that those were not THEIR children being connected to them (WA state rep in interview on Democracy Now). The de tangling and reconnection of families is just a drop in the possible reuniting of families that have been literally torn apart.
15Jay, the funding obviously came out of our pockets while Donnie and his gang were committing their atrocities in OUR good names. Have written our good Senator (Cortez-Masto the Democrat) to voice our ire. We want apologies from Donnie, Jeff, Kirstjen, Kelly, et al for all the families. Seriously. And we want apologies from them for using OUR names. We like it that Senator Cortez-Masto is an attorney and was once NV Attorney General. She knows about Indemnity Law, and if/how, etc Donnie and those responsible can be held accountable at least for a portion of the cost and the lawsuits arising from this mess.
Ironic. Maybe for the first time in his sorry life Dotard45 will be held accountable for something. But, first things first, let’s take care of the families first. There’s no trusting Dotard45 until this mess is cleaned up to the satisfaction of the families he has harmed.
16Jane & PKM
Cummings was sitting on the Oversight Committee, which was talking about Hillary’s emails (surprise, surprise). My favorite parts are when he calls out Trey “Flop Sweat” Gowdy for his e-mail and Benghaszi bullish—, while sitting right next to him. Gowdy looked like he was trying to be invisible.
As to Steve S, welcome in and bring Ana Navarro with you. Leave the quitta from Wasilla where you found her.
17Another enabler of whack jobs, liars, war criminals and fools trying to flee from the dumpster fire he helped start.
18Sounds like another potential candinate of choice for the DNC, dscc, or dccc to help protect the d’s from those dangerous progressives like bernie.
Steve appears to be a thinking person when he is on MSNBC. His selection of Palin for VP suggest he is not. Unless what some of us thought is true. They were trying to throw the election due to the impending crash. If he picked her in order to not win, he made a good choice.
19Msb, my only ‘complaint’ with representative Cummings is that he is too much of a gentleman and way too nice to the snacilbupeR on his committee. It would be “Chicken Soup” for our souls if he or another member of Congress were to punch one of those richly deserving mugs square in their st00pid mouth. What I wouldn’t pay to observe Congresswoman Frederica Wilson stick a hat pin into one of those posteriors.
Apologies, Mama. As a Dad, I know better than to advocate even a little violence even in jest. Not excusing myself in any way, just the frustrations of watching Donnie’s hot mess unfold on innocent migrants and their children. My mood was not improved when Ivanka thanked Donnie for barely lending a tissue toward mopping up his own mess. Wouldn’t scold a child or a dog for having an accident, but to reward Donnie after he stepped in his?
20Rep. Jayapal is a US Congresswoman from Washington State. She and her family emigrated from India when she was 16.
Senator Hirono of Hawaii was even more blunt than Rep. Cummings. Love her. You’ll have to research what exactly she said. I’m on my tablet and not the best at finding stuff.
