Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
So that’s why J. Edgar Hoover was always investigating him!
1War is Peace. MLK was a Republican. I am pretty sure this is NOT going to work on the black community – whom this billboard is directed.
2MLK was a Republican when Abraham Lincoln was regarded as a great man by Republicans. During the “Southern Strategy” days of Richard Nixon, the parties seem to have held a Freaky Friday and changed roles with the Republicans getting the Strom Thurmond cadre.
3Better to see these loons wasting their money on something like this than on something that might actually work.
4That sign right up there with the Top Dollar Pawn, a really classy area.
5And Herman Cain and Newt are faithful husbands.
6Liar! Liar! Pants on Fire!!
7PolitiFact Texas looked into a similar claim in 2011 and interviewed David J. Garrow, author of the Pulitzer Prize winning King biography “Bearing the Cross: Martin Luther King Jr. and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference” (1986). He said: “It is simply incorrect to call Dr. King a Republican.”

My 82 yro Mother grew up on Pennsylvania Avenue in South Dallas. She was a cheerleader at Forest Avenue High School, graduating in 1947. Most EVERYBODY in her high school ended up going to college and landing in the same neighborhood in North Dallas – we know this because we all went to school together, second generation. This area of Big D has been plagued with poverty for over 50 years, no thanks to the RePigs running Texas politics. This is pathetic and sickening.
8@Jose – thanks for the interesting link; MLK, Jr. (and Sr.) would be so disgusted!
9TexasEllen hit it right on the nose. The Teapublicans know nothing of history, nor do they want to. Besides, their glorious leader is the consummate liar, so why shouln’t they proudly follow his lead?
10This shows great contempt for Black citizens.
11I know a few trailer park communities where this sign would cost the Republicans a lot of votes. Anything MLK supported, East Texas red neck would oppose. How would this sign look in Tyler? Even Crazy Louie couldn’t survive an endorsement from MLK!
12@ Ralph – Gawd, I’d LOVE to see that (awful) billboard facing north at the corner of South Broadway and Grande Blvd in Tyler!
13What the….???
