Sorry. I Can’t Do It

May 24, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Sorry, guys. A bunch of you have sent me links about Louie Gohmert’s cruel, vicious, hateful, unchristian remark to a young women who had been through every pregnant woman’s worse nightmare. His remarks were meant solely to hurt her and shame her in a public and self righteous manner.

I can’t be funny about it. It was obscene and for very personal reasons, I just can’t talk about it.

However, if you need to vent, keep it clean but let that sucker have it.

It was the unholy marriage of arrogance and hate.

Be social and share!

Isn’t it amusing, though, that the more someone proclaims themselves as Christians, the less they follow Christ’s teachings?

I use the term “Kristians” for such folks – just as “Krab” is fake crab made from fish by-products and textured soy, “Kristians” are fake Christians. (KK-Kristians are the racist Kristians.)

  2. What a tiny, tiny man.

    2
  3. That was difficult to watch. To hear Louie use words like sympathy, empathy, love and “educated decision” and then heartlessly criticize this mother’s decision is mind-boggling. I wonder if he would feel the same if our sympathy, empathy, and love led us to make the “educated decision” to remove his child from his home. It is hard to imagine the effect that Louie has on a child’s life, especially his own.

  4. eyesoars says:

The first commenter there said what I thought — clearly Louie’s mother took at least one brainless fetus to term.

    4
  5. TexasEllen says:

May God forgive Louie’s sins with all the mercy and grace Louie extends to others. This committee of eight men seem to find it unremarkable that they should dictate obstetric and gynecologic advice to women, without the benefit of having passed an adequate eighth grade health class.

  6. Umptydump says:

Oh wow. i said on another thread that I think Louie makes more dumb comments than all 434 other members of Congress combined. Well, this one proves that he’s not only in front of the others, but opening up a bigger lead, because he’s up to the rate of two a day. Spotted owls and birth defects … both on Thursday.

At this point the truth needs to be told. Few people realize that Louie himself had a birth defect, but the doctors lopped off the wrong head just after he came into the world. They shoulda castrated him as well while they were at it. It’s a frightening thought that he grew up and managed to make three contributions to the gene pool, so a new hereditary disease may be loose in the world – Gohmertism.

    6
  7. “The mills of the gods grind slowly, but they grind exceeding small…”

Louie’s due to be poured down the hopper and ground down very, very, very small indeed, because it would be harder to be smaller than he is.

    7
  8. daisymae says:

F@F Umptydump. Just when you think they can go no lower, they do.

    8
  9. Umptydump’s remark reminds me of a British politician years ago commenting on an opponent: “When they circumcised him, they threw away the wrong bit.” Seems to apply here.

  10. PolishSpring says:

What Louie (and the republican party) needs is women (not little women, the real ones)
NYtimes article “The Women Versus the Ted” By GAIL COLLINS – published May 24, 2013 talks about women vs Ted Cruz… I guess Gail hasn’t heard the Louie remark yet..
Good God, y’all. Louie needs to sit down.

    10
  11. I found his remarks disgusting.
My son died in the NICU when he was 5 days old. We removed him from the ventilator because he was essentially brain dead from brain bleeds.
We were left with thousands of dollars in medical bills and I don’t even remember what the insurance paid. Never mind the emotional trauma of having your baby die in your arms.
What a horrible, nasty man. I really don’t know what else to say.

He is a poor excuse for a man. Even more for a christian.

    11
  12. PolishSpring says:

Louie G understands that fetuses lacking brain activity grow up to be Loiue G and other such republican members. He’s just trying to protect his future voting base.

Seriously though, shouldn’t we the people demand that politicians pass some damn tests before attempting to speak for the nation??!! How is it that a doctor or a lawyer or a car mechanic can’t practice until they prove their mettle, and these Bozos are allowed a public podium to make some crazy-a** laws??!!
    That’s insane.
Back to some school with them all!
    Hah.

    12
  13. Louie is a prime example of the inverse square law on religion.
The louder you go on about being something, the less likely you are to actually practice what you claim to follow.

    13
  14. I hold the voters of his congressional district responsible for sending this unfeeling, nasty individual to occupy a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. It reveals a whole bunch about his supporters.

    14
  15. The people of Tyler and Looney Louie’s district are SHAMELESS to keep electing this hideous pig to Congress.

    15
  16. maryelle says:

Once again, an all-male repuglican committee carrying out another Inquisition on a woman’s right to make her own decision about her own body. Gohmert spews what the rest of them think: men need to make laws to prevent women from thinking that they are anything but breeders.

    16
  17. OldMayfly says:

When I was a clinic escort one of the escorts was a big guy who was calm, observant, and steady. One of the male protesters at the clinic started talking to him “man-to-man” about how men were more moral/logical/whatever and should make abortion illegal, etc.

The big guy replied, “When it comes to abortion, I do just what Jesus did. I say nothing and leave it to women.”

    17
  18. Ralph Wiggam says:

Louie never made an educated decision in his life. He lacks the essential requirement of education.

    18
  19. Shelly in damn Tyler says:

Hey…I’m from Tyler. Some of us didn’t vote for this loon. I am ashamed, though. I send Louie email weekly telling him to shut the hell up, but isn’t working.

    19
  20. PK Scott says:

All I can add is that this kind of BS is sending your heretofore apolitical young women who have taken women’s rights for granted running to the democratic party. This is the last stand for white male privilege and somewhere in their teeny tiny hearts these bastards know it. My daughter is an independent young woman who states quite plainly that she doesn’t need a man financially or emotionally (she likes men she just doesn’t NEED them) and frankly it scares the crap out of them. Sorry boys, a vagina no longer defaults a person to the servant class.

    20
  21. “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”

What is disgusting and shameful is that Louie Gohmert is a Pharisee and has placed himself equal to or above Jesus.

    21
  22. June Bug says:

He’s not the first to make this suggestion – about a year ago a Georgia state legislator said that a woman should carry such a fetus to term because “everyone knows that pigs and other animals carry such fetuses to term and then give birth…” I know a woman who, before the technology was present to prevent such painful experience, gave birth to a baby with no functioning brain and the effects on her life were a disaster. Louie, you creep, crawl back into your hole.

    22
  23. 71%, salon patrons. Sev-en-ty. One. Per-cent. That was the vote for him in his district.

    23
  24. Oh, and I should have added, that scares me more than Louie.

    24
  25. Had I known that my own tiny son would have spent his eight short hours on this earth gasping for breath and enduring an unsuccessful surgery, I would have considered a late term abortion. I wish for no one to face that decision, but if they do, Louie needs to keep his damned mouth shut and not interfere with that decision. That was one of the most insensitive remarks I’ve heard in a long time.

    25
  26. Susan Yardley says:

I personally will pray that Louie gets all that he rightfully deserves. Amen

    26
  27. fenway fran says:

Time for sanctions on Louie. No more blessing his little heart. It’s a lost cause.

    27
  28. Katie Johnsonius says:

Which one of you fabulous, witty folks from Gomert’s district will run against him? I’m up in the Ozarks– in an enlightened village– but I will contribute to the campaign of any one of you who will take him on. At LEAST, make him spend money to win!

    28
  29. I had a girlfriend whose ultrasound revealed the baby was anencephalic (brain didn’t form). I don’t remember how far into the pregnancy they were, but they terminated it.

These children don’t automatically die (i.e. cease to breathe), often having a functioning brain stem, but they never have a cognitive life. Some exceedingly brave women will continue to carry the child so the organs can be harvested to save other babies, but getting this set up can very difficult because of the legal definitions of “brain dead.”

Louie obviously would not give women the choice. He probably also wouldn’t allow the child to be given up for organ donation at birth, forcing it to “live” until its organs were no longer viable, thereby condemning to death all the babies the organs could have saved.

    29
  30. My heart breaks for all of you who have endured the horror and trauma of losing a child. I lost a sister, when she was six and a niece from a traumatic brain bleed when she was nine. I never had to make the decision to terminate a pregnancy, wanted or unwanted, but I cherish the right and I want that right for my daughters. To bring a suffering child into the world when you know that child is going to die, or never fully develop, is beyond cruel to the family and to the child. Gohmert is a moral monster. If he had a biological mother and wasn’t born of some unholy union between non human creatures his mother must be ashamed of him and his cruelty.

    30
  31. austinhatlady says:

“So, these are ethical issues, they’re moral issues, they’re difficult issues, and the parents should certainly be consulted.”

Louie thinks the parents of a fetus with this type of defect should be “consulted”? Really?! And just who should the “consultor” be?

    Cruel, evil, creepy jerk.

    31
  32. Lorraine in Spring says:

Ok, Louie’s so far over the line here, he needs to be on the One Way Ticket to Mars list:

    http://applicants.mars-one.com/

He can take Calgary Cruz with him.

    32
  33. Miss Prissybritches..... says:

The evangelical branch of my husband’s family went thru this…. his niece carried the child to term, it lived, just like the doctors predicted, about an hour. All kinds of horrible, gut-wrenching memories…. and these middle-class morons carried the baby to term, knowing that as soon as the child was born, there had to be a complete blood change, about $200K of surgery on an open heart issue, and if the baby survived that…. there were serious existing brain deficiencies that would render the child completely non-communicado.. yes, they had good health insurance…. the husband makes Reese’s candy products…but the coverage for that kind of newborn health issue didn’t remotely cover it.

I was the pro-abortion crazy person, my husband’s sister tried to shame me into silence…. this was at 4 months into the pregnancy. An abortion was a no-brainer for me…. The hospital in Hershey, PA made hand and footprints of the baby, took the deceased child, and I guess the hospital has a little burial place on their grounds for the “little angels” that don’t make it. It was horrible to go thru. Horrible. The government has no business sticking its nose into this issue… into these very private, difficult decisions. The niece made the decision to carry the child, prayed a whole lot, and spent months in a major depression, that extended far beyond the delivery.

My bottom line was options. Heather’s bottom line was God not giving her any burden she couldn’t bear…. and other BS like that.

I have friends who are still caring for their daughter with cerebal palsy at 19… 24/7 care, oxygen, wheelchair, diapers. God didn’t give them anything they couldn’t bear, and their child is a lesson in humility. Right. They don’t have a freakin’ life. Just 20 years of diaper changing, picking up, bathing, dressing, and feeding an ever-growing child, who is now in the body of an adult, but has the mind of a 2 year old.

Republicans don’t want to care for the child… they want to dictate about the status of the fetus. Once it is born, well… you’re on your own, or you are denigrated for taking advantage of the government for medical coverage, disability payments, on and on and on. Yada yada.

I hate this issue and I hate Republican White Men who think they have the power to dictate a woman’s decision.

    33
  34. Clearly this piss poor excuse for a human being needs psychological help. I honestly think he has lost touch with reality.

    34
  35. @Miss Prissybritches, I couldn’t agree with you more. Frequently marriages don’t last after the birth of a disabled child because so much time, not to mention money, is involved in the care of such child.

It’s impossible for me to imagine the agony a woman experiencing either having an abortion or having such a disabled baby, but I can very well imagine what I would like to see happen to Louie, and it ain’t pretty. He is truly vile.

    35
  36. Corinne Sabo says:

I am glad it is God and not things like Gohmert who decide who is and isn’t Christian. That dude is minus a soul.

    36
  37. Aggieland liz says:

Some of you might recall Baby Teresa, whose Catholic parents could not bring themselves to abort their anencephalic baby. They decided that it was God’s will (yeah, I know, please don’t start throwing rocks) that they have this baby, and that some other little babies could have corneas and a liver and bone marrow, and a heart, etc, because those parts were healthy, just couldn’t go on without a brain, right?

Except that his was in Florida, and the doctors insisted on keeping that little body on life support for 9 or 10 days until nothing was any good and they took what was left off life support and let it die “naturally.”

I’m still praying for that poor lady. That’s probably what I would have done. I would not dream of second guessing someone else’s decision, ever, though when I was younger I was not so bright. Louie, as many of you have already stated, is not so bright either.

    37
  38. No, no, Lorraine. Let’s not send these idiots to Mars. Give that colony a chance to develop sanely.

    38
  39. Jerry C. says:

Thank you zyxomma for posting the link to Christy’s testimony. It moved me to tears, sadly, tears of despair. I just cannot understand the motivation of the Gomerts of this world. I am an “old white male” and nothing in me can support this cretin. God forgive all of us “old white male farts” for the evil we so often impose on his creation. Isn’t there any way to get this “thing” (I refuse to call him a man) out of congress?

    39
  40. Bosco Brown says:

I swear I saw Louie sitting in the jurors box in the movie, “My Cousin Vinny! ”
In the scene, where the opening arguments are being given the camera pans the jury and there sits Louie!

    40
  41. There’s an old saying from the Internet:

“His birth was a defect. Thalidomide couldn’t have made it worse”

    41
  42. english teacher says:

Using a tactic suggested some time ago by another patron of the WMDBS to use a local zip code, I just wrote a scathing denunciation of his remarks to Mrs. Zink. Thanks to TexasEllen for giving me the words for the only blessing that a good “Christian” like Louie deserves.

    42
  43. Magistra Latina says:

@Rhea: Or a much earlier quip about I-forget-whom: ‘When he was born, they kept the placenta and threw away the baby.’

    43
  44. grannygrey says:

We lost a granddaughter, who, thankfully, the doctors weren’t going to ‘try to keep alive’ on Christmas Day, 25 years ago. I watched one of my best friends forced to carry a baby that could not survive childbirth..to term… back in the early 1960’s and I was pregnant at the same time.
I watched a family forced to have a baby, and then lose everything in bankruptcy because their insurance wouldn’t cover over 1,000,000 dollars lifetime.. That was gone in a month… The parents wanted to let the baby go, as it never breathed on its own, or anything…but the baby was put in the NICU…with tubes, needles because some idiot in Texas decided that baby should be ‘kept alive’. The baby never left the hospital, but the parents had to foot the bill because of someone like Gohmert..
I have some ideas what I would like to do to some of these male legislators; don’t think they would like to have it done..but..what’s sauce for the goose should also be sauce for the gander.
That family, because of Gohmert, will suffer the rest of their lives….and so will other families… Too bad we don’t have some of the mythological Greek and Roman gods and goddesses to step in and deal with him…I do not think he would enjoy his everlasting punishment.

    44
  45. There is something wrong in the minds of people like Louie. They have no compassion and no ability to put themselves into someone else’s place. They think that everyone is, or should be, or must be, exactly like them, and think the way they think. They’re not unlike psychopaths who have no feeling for other people.

They sure as hell don’t belong in public office.

    45
  46. Despicable. Every time I get disgusted with Democrats for adopting Herbert Hoover economics and trashing the Bill of Rights, some RWM clown blows off and reminds me that we have to fight them to our last breath.

Louie and his ilk would be more at home serving as members of the Supreme Guardian Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He’d fit in perfectly.

    46
  47. Magistra Latina

‘They saved the after-birth and threw away the baby’ (or close) is a line from Eleanor of the play/movie The Lion in Winter.

    47
  48. I heard what ol’ Louie said yesterday and not a single one of the words I said is appropriate for repeating in public.

I’m not sure how anyone that lacking in brains or compassion has survived.

    48
  49. What a foul excuse for a human being he is. Gohmert isn’t worth the gum on the bottom of her shoe.

    49
