Some Days It’s Worth Getting Up

October 05, 2021 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

This morning, way too early, I got a text from my librarian son. It said for me to see the attached, get up and put on my house shoes and laugh my morning away.

Here’s the attached:

Fat Wolverine? I’ve never heard him called Fat Wolverine. Have you ever heard him called Fat Wolverine? I know I’m going to ask everybody I know if they have ever heard Ted Cruz called Fat Wolverine. I’m just doing my research. You know, on Fat Wolverines.

If you can get past the headline, and admittedly it took me a while, there’s a pretty good story about the NBA and vaccines. Not as good as Fat Wolverine, but certainly readable.

(By the way, my research led to me know that Fat Wolverine was trending on Twitter.)

Now that I look at his picture, there is a remarkable likeness to an actual fat wolverine, only he’s not as smart or as likable.

  2. might be… a wolverine is a member of the weasel family…

  3. Jane & PKM says:

Fat Wolverine. Perfect! Teddie Crooze would certainly eliminate the honey from honey badger.

    3
  4. I think “Fat Wolverine” may have come from last Saturday’s SNL cold upen skit.

  5. Karen in New Mexico says:

He’s still a Grandpa Munster doppelgänger to me

  6. I’m not sure, but I think I read somewhere that ‘wolverine’ is Sturvenian for ‘blob’.

  7. Thanks, made my day!

But if we had a MSM that wasn’t 80% controlled by Conservatism, along with laughing at Ted ‘Fat Wolverine’ Cruz (lol!), they’d be ripping his fat wolverine ass off.

  8. WhitesCreek says:

    “Fat Weasel” maybe.

Cyranetta@4: tell us old folks more! Like most old men and infants, I have to be in bed before SNL comes on, or I get grumpy the next day. Actually, grumpier than usual.

The Root is a web site that often reports on race issues … with wit, verve, and sometimes downright hilarity. I recommend it, especially when right-wing nutjobs come out with something racist. Which is any day of the week that ends in -day.

  10. For some reason this post reminds me of the story of Kim Jong-nam, the half-bro of current North Korean dictator/Fearless Leader Kim Jong-Un. As I recall it, Kim Jong-nam traveled around the planet using the alias Pang Xiong, meaning “fat bear” in Mandarin. Then he became an embarrassment and was assassinated by NK operators using ignorant bystanders in Malaysia.

Not a lot of difference between fat bear and fat weasel. One’s dead dead and the other’s morally, ethically, and spiritually dead.

Here’s one view of the non-fat Wolverine … actually, probably 6-8% fat level Wolverine.
    First, in profile: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Wolverine_AKA_James_%22Logan%22_Howlett.png

    Then, full face

And here’s the fat Wolverine … [despite the bios saying 5’10” and 80 kilos (~175 lbs), I think there may have been a bit of inflation. I’m 5’10” and have a similar profile in a suit, and I’m not close to 175 pounds.]

    in profile.

I’m reading tonight about the chameleon mike pence being in my neighborhood in Oregon raising funds for…himself I guess. Since Jan 6, he’s gone from calling the insurrection a blight on democracy to being just fine with it. Of course he is- how else can he grift for money. According to him now, the media continuing to report on Jan 6 is all about trying to diminish the trumpf presidency and refocusing from Afghanistan. Of course he forgets conveniently that his administration set all that in motion by signing an agreement with the Taliban to leave and sabotaging the visa process for Afghanis. And trying to sugarcoat trumpf’s administration is pure bullshit.

    Steve from Beaverton:

Let us state exactly what happened:

Trump surrendered Afghanistan to the Taliban.

  15. Tedinaustin says:

@Karen#5. Hey, leave Grandpa Munster out of this. He’s a much beloved member of a wondrous fictional family, not an all-to-real despicable weasel (with my deepest apologies to non-snacilbupeR Weasels everywhere).

    15
  16. Not a fan of fat-shaming people, even sanctimonious, lying seditionists like “Ted”.

    16
  17. He grew the beard and `tache to *try* and look important .

    17
  18. AlanInAustin ... says:

“Fat Wolverine”? Huh. Well, at least half right.

    18
  19. Steve from Beaverton says:

Besides being a fat wolverine, I think the cruzer should be classified as a political terrorist:

  20. BLM is dead now.
    Killed by ideology and looters.
    Succeeded by CRT and gendersillies.

    20
  21. Steve from Beaverton says:

BLM dead- not around here. However, one local school board has banned any reference to it on school grounds along with lgbt references. I’m sure they’ll ban any teaching of CRT, too. Oh, this is a school board that was hijacked by ultra conservative members as is happening in a lot of places.

I believe that “fat hamster” is more appropriate for Rafael.
