I think the Tea Party folks have been put under a spell.

A spelling spell.

Texas lost a good State Senator when Mario Gallegos died after it was too late to take his name off the ballot.  R. W. Bray ran against him and lost to a dead man.  Big time.  This is a very Democratic and Hispanic district.

R.W. is an African American ultra conservative who used to be an aid for Houston City Councilwoman Helena Brown.  Now, I’m not saying that you could have Helena Brown committed, but if she accidentally wandered into a mental health facility, she could not prove her way out.  Her last in a long line of stunts was paying $3,000 of tax money for refrigerator magnets.

Anyway, one of our customers, who wants to remain anonymous because she’s not bulletproof, sent me an email she got from a Houston Republican.

I am going to re-print it here.  I did not change a damn word.

Dear fellow Republicans,

I come to you today to send you a quick but very important Email. As we all know now the general election on November 6, 2012 did not turn out in our favor. The next morning if left us scratching our heads and asking what did we do wrong. I think we can all agree now the Democrats had a better ground game and a better get out the vote then we did. The question we must all ask our self’s now is how can show we have learned from the last election. Senate District 6 has never been won by a conservative. We are now faced with a special election in the coming weeks. Mr. R. W. Bray ran in the general election and got over 38,000 votes. Mr. Gallegos got 93,000 votes. As of today we have 2 democrats and 1 conservative running. The democrats are not currently attacking Bray they are attacking them self’s. They are splitting the vote amongst them self’s. With the rumors of a 3rd democrat jumping in the race. Turn out will be low and the vote will be split. Now, Bray needs our help we have to turn the 38,000 back out plus more. There are a couple simple things i think we can do such as the following:

– Make 10 phone calls

– Walk a block in the district

– Send the campaign $10.00

– Help pass signs out

These are just a few things we can do to help put Mr. Bray over the top. With a victory like this we would leave the Democrats scratching their heads and let them know Texas will not turn blue in 2014. We have to show them we will take our county back.
