Senate Republicans … What’s With Those Guys?

November 28, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

The bill to keep Trump from just up and firing Robert Mueller got blocked again today.  And that’s fine with me because Senator Jeff Flake is stopping the senate from approving any more judges until the bill gets passed.

So if they’d rather sacrifice some lifetime appointments of radical right judges just to kiss Trump’s bodacious butt, that’s fine with me.

The bill would codify Justice Department (DOJ) regulations that say only a senior department official could fire Mueller or another special counsel.

It would give a special counsel an “expedited review” of their firing. If a court determines that it wasn’t for “good cause,” the special counsel would be reinstated.

I’m just gosh-darned certain that Mueller and his team have preserved all the evidence, making Mueller’s firing  nothing more than an inconvenience.

So, have a ball, Mike Lee Republican of Utah, today’s official Republican blocker.

  1. Day one of the next Congress:

Jeff Schiff issues a subpoena duces tecum to Robert Mueller and the Special Counsel’s Office for all evidence of the Special Counsel’s investigation returnable on the day of Mueller’s firing.

  2. Adam Schiff. I Flaked out.

  3. Jane & PKM says:

The late Senator McCain advocated for returning to the ‘normal’ rule of order, meaning a 2/3 vote to confirm judicial nominees. The rest of the Senate snacilbupeR want it both ways with “fast track” for their nominees and “oh hell no” for any Democratic nominees. Consensus appointments protect the integrity of the system from any nominee outside the accepted judicial norms be they supposed “loony leftists” or forced birther “radicals.” Old Scratch McConnell has been derailing the system for nearly 10 years. 2020 – “stop the ‘itch!” 51 votes with Mikey Dense as the tie breaker isn’t democracy.

Same for special prosecutors. One rule is needed whichever the party of the occupant of the WH. Boof Kavanaugh and Ken Starr come to mind when addressing the need for a balanced special counsel statute. “They” say Mueller is rogue in a pique of selective memory and asinine levels of hubris. C’mon Scratch, write the statute or quit whining.

  4. If one ignores the reality that miss lindsay and road kill flake never live up to their threats to stand up to demented donnie we could be looking at an interesting lame duck session.
Miss lindsay has “promised” to block any “meaningful” vote on any important bills until he gets a breifing on Khosghetti murder.
Roadkill jeff ( so named for all the tires tracks he wears from getting driven over everyone of his past faux stands against his dear leader) has promised to block any judge until Mueller is protected. I beleive rand paul is flitting around the dges with some other meaningless drribble about how he can regain the spotlight as well.
making the huge and unsupported assumption that any of these puppets actually do find a backbone to live up to their statements, plus if shumer stops playing footsie with demeented donnie and actually does his job as D leader, we could see lame duck session quickly collapse into total and completely ineffectual chaos.

  5. Susan on the Left Coast says:

Saw a tiny blurb by Never Trump conservatives that stated the Repubs are currently plotting to change the laws regarding presidential pardons to include state charges in order to protect Trump and his cohorts from justice. ie: Manafort has charges against him in 3-states.

I beleive this is a court case working its way up to the dishonorable scotus.
    Gamble v. United States
orrin hatch has already joined in a freind of the court missive.
They may be trying some legislative movement as well.

  7. I remember reading about Seth Rich’s parents ( DNC staffer died in a muggging became faux issue) can do in that lawsuit with the information 2 of the major perveyors of this lie knew they were lying

  8. The Surly Professor says:

OK, I gotta be That Guy. I think JJ meant “capacious” or “humongous” or “just plain nasty” instead of “bodacious” in describing Trump’s rump. Or is there a word that encapsulates “of or like a dead skunk splattered on the highway”? Ms. JJ is bodacious; Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Beto are bodacious. Nothing about Trump is.

And now I have to go and try to purge my mind of any mental images involving any of Trump’s body parts.

  9. Does anyone understand what “K says:” is actually asking?

    9
  10. @Susan you can find gamble v. us on the ACLU site. Yes, Orin Hatch is promoting it as a relief from prosecution at state and fed level for the SAME EXACT CRIME. Dumpsters, Cohen’s, and Manafort’s crimes at both levels ARE NOT THE SAME. Mueller was very careful to make this happen. Mueller is playing 4D chess and these bozos can’t figure out tiddlywinks.

  11. @Dan
Stone and associate knew DNC email leak was coming from russians.
Corsi and stone are frequent “contributors to faux news.
Seth Rich, a DNC staffer/intern, was murdered in an apperent mugging.
Faux with stone and Corsi cheerleading promoted lie that Mr. Rich was murdered by Hillary’s people because he, Mr Rich, leaked the emails ( a lie)
Mr. Rich’s parents have asked Faux news to stop promoting delusion that he was murdered for leaking.
Faux in response hired a “private” investigator to delve into this to bring the “guilty” members of Hillary’s team to justice.
As a result the Mr. Rich’s parents were either threatening or actually filed a law suit against faux.
With Corsi admitting he knew the email leak came from russia and wikileaks one must wonder how that will effect that will have on any lawsuit they might file.
    OK?
