Say Whaaaat?
While I firmly and completely believe that Republicans are people who have had a humorectomy, I’m beginning to think they have also had a logicectomy.
Take today’s example: Republican Congressman Bob Goodlatte from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Ole Bob has a new anti-choice thought: having babies is good for the economy. So, Sister, if you ain’t pumping ‘um out yearly, you are what’s causing the economic slump.
“I would suggest that it is very much the case that those of us in the majority support this legislation because it is the morally right thing to do, but it is also very very true that having a growing population and having new children brought into the world is not harmful to job creation,” Goodlatte said, as recorded by the Huffington Post. “It very much promotes job creation for all the care and services and so on that need to be provided by a lot of people to raise children.”
And if the parent can’t afford to pay for all that job creation? What then, Bob? Huh, Bob? Cat got your Republican tongue, Bob?
Slave labor? Are you asking women to reproduce for all your minimum wage no benefits jobs? It’s cool if you are, Bob, because you’re a jerk either way.
By the way, Bob, I noticed that you are not contributing much to the economy. Two children? Phhhffff.
Perhaps Mrs. Goodlatte’s womb is on hiatus or his sperm is past it’s “use by” date!! Picture the guy in the picture approaching for “entry” into the vajayjaysphere! Crapola … I don’t think so!!
1Any guesses as to what racial group Goodlatte is talking about when he speaks of “having new children brought into the world” vs. the racial makeup of those who Goodlatte expects to provide “all the care and services and so on”?
The constant willingness of these people to utter public statements without any prior thought is one of our greatest assets. Current champ, of course: Louie Gohmert. But I think Goodlatte has real potential. Encore, sir!
2Born in MA, elected in VA. Maybe we need a law restricting stupidity from exporting itself across state lines. Bob is another shoot first, aim later Republican.
Good luck with those outreach programs, Reince. Your boys would stand better chances of being re-elected, if they took “the vows of silence.”
3In my old age I’ve figured out that Republicans mostly fall into 3 categories: greed is good, dumb as a bag of rocks or wealthy philanthropists who want total control over who gets their money, that is, who they determine is “worthy” of their “patronage”. Of course there are those who are both greedy and stupid ala Goodlatte & Gohmert.
4When men can carry a baby for nine months and go through labor and delivery, then stay home to care for the newborns, THEN they get to make crap statements like that about childbirth. Until then, shut the fridge up!
5I believe this is a performance art piece, bringing The Handmaid’s Tale to life.
6How come his wife didn’t pump out more than two kids?
7Garrison Keillor’s description of Republicans in 2004! It was true then, as it is true today!

8I like the idea of laws restricting exporting crazies and crooks across state lines. That sure would solve a LOT of problems in NC. The carpet/tea baggers have taken over with the help of Kochs, Rove, ALEC, Pope and the like. I am seeing decades of improvements for working people being destroyed in just the last few years.
9So, when will this idiot write legislation requiring nuns to reproduce?
Good Grief.
10Thank you for the link, Fred Farklestone, Keillor’s essay on Republicans is spot on.
11I can guarantee you that if Bob had to bear the children himself he wouldn’t even have two.
12Oh, my dears! He isn’t the only one. We’ve got another idiot running for office in VA (whose name escapes me) who thinks that “spousal rape” should not be a crime because, well, when she agreed to marry she apparently agreed to be a sex worker 24/7, too!
No, you cannot make this stuff up (unless you are REALLY wacked out on drugs and booze).
13@JAKvirginia: Here’s the article on Richard Black from VA who they are comparing to that idiot Todd Akin.

14@Marcia in CO
Believe it or not, he goes by Dick.
15Latte is a a dairy product … Right?!?
16So – milky logic or rationale; lacks (lax) transparency?!?
@marcia:Dick also said it couldn’t be rape if the woman was in her nightie.
17You know the old story – she dressed like a slut so it couldn’t be rape.
More babies and a growing population is good for job creation? Fool, those growing babies NEED jobs before they get into a position to create any. Try looking at some countries where the population is rising fast and see how their job situation is going– those are the poorest countries.
As for GOP women being encouraged to pump them out: I think it was the last election when the WashPost profiled all of the 8-10 candidates at that time from each major party. Every GOP candidate had at least three kids, and no Democrat had more than two. Scared me spitless. The buggers are breeding like rats, not caring that 7 billion people on this little planet is way too many already.
18Lest I forgit-she has such lovely blonde hair. I wonder why she dyed the roots black?
19“Say Whaaaat?” is so right. Once again an old white guy republican has gasted my flabber. Wow!
20Hold on, hold on….maybe he’s onto something here.
If each member of Congress were to adopt, say ten kids, that’d not only help them implement their theory and improve the economy but also shrink the orphanage population.
Let’s take them up on the offer.
21I like that! Mandatory adoption for legislators with list of mandatory stuff to do for and with the kids.
I’m just glad nobody follows me around with a camcorder all the time; I’ve said stupider things. He did kind of ask for it, though, didn’t he.
22p.s. He obviously hasn’t been job hunting lately with the requirement to find a job that pays enough to live on.
23Bobbo is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. He does not care much for immigration reform cuz that would mean all of those anchor babies already on site would get boosted up a notch in social status with kids like his own and lord knows we just cannot have that! His draft legislation is still just that, a draft. The RWNJ’s in Congress have been poking around just enough to say there are actually really doing something about this issue. Sure are. They are delaying it until it dies. And it is all so obvious. This is the guy who got a young Hispanic lady in his office just to ask her how she would feel if her illegal parents actually did decide to deport themselves and leave her here by herself where she was born. Brutal question! Consider the source. I just know she was shocked to the soul but she held her temper and told him that the way she was raised, she believed her parents always did what was in her best interests.
24Make that mandatory adoption of special needs children, let them get the kids off the ‘gubmint roles’.
25I know; I know; since these dough mounds are getting ‘gubmint selleries’ it’s just transferring the kids to a different system of ‘being on the government dole’.
Holy Gohmerts, ladies. Here I am with my third apology of the day. WTG have I been thinking?
But here it is, Holy Gomerts, the far right is not only invading the reproductive rights of women, but they are now after us guys, too. Time men and women stick together and tell the RWNJs to get their “small” government out of our bedrooms, before we start charging them rent.
America? Freedom? Hell-ooooo Tea Bags, I hope to gohmert even in your crazy kingdom, children are a discussion for my wife and myself. It’s kind of a personal thing. Just like the doctor/patient thing. Not that is any of your business, but we are both healthy, just young.
We’ll have our kids when my wife tells me will. My choice is her choice.
26Holy Gohmerts, apology #5 for dumb writing. Meant to say, for real, my wife’s choice and I support her.
Juanita Jean, is there an explanation for a really bad hair day at the keyboard?
27Polite Kool Marxist at 5:30 pm:
Can’t tell you how much I clapped and enjoyed your remarks! Right on!!!
28There is a store someplace that sells these freaks. Because there are so many of them. Is every idiot (god, look at that picture–)that we have had the misfortune to hear about lately produced in a third-world factory someplace and sold on the black market to an eager RWNJ client?? I am sure Bates College is mighty proud of this one. Each new one introduced is stupider than the last! It’s fascinating, in a horror-show sort of way–and certainly an example of what happens when no one is hired for quality control.
29PKM — Well, I enjoy your posts, and I bet we can all forgive a less-than-perfect hair day at the keyboard. Heck, I’m glad I still have some hairs at all. (And yes, I meant “hairs” — I love each and every one of them.) I think it’s even okay to place all the blame on the keyboard.
